Strudel is an exquisite dessert, the preparation of which requires a lot of tinkering with both the dough and the filling. But there is also a simplified version of it from a ready-made base. How to prepare a delicious strudel from pita bread with apples in the oven is described below.

For such a dessert, it is best to choose sweet and sour fruits. Then the filling will turn out especially tasty.

Ingredients:

  • thin pita bread – 4 pcs.;
  • apples – kilo;
  • lime/lemon juice – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • sugar – 60 – 70 g;
  • biscuits – 80 – 100 g;
  • butter – 80 – 100 g;
  • freshly ground cinnamon – 1 tsp;
  • eggs – 1 pc.;
  • vanillin - a pinch.

Preparation:

  1. Carefully strain the citrus juice from the seeds.
  2. Cut the fruit into medium pieces (no peel!).
  3. Place the apples in a frying pan along with fresh lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet sand.
  4. Simmer for 10 - 12 minutes. Liquid caramel should form in the container, and most of the juice should evaporate. Do not leave the mixture on the fire for a long time. It shouldn't turn into puree.
  5. Use a blender to turn the dry cookies into fine crumbs.
  6. Roll out each pita bread and sprinkle with cookies on one side. Place ¼ of the filling from the pan on top.
  7. Fold the edges of the pita bread towards the middle, covering the apple mixture, and then roll the dough into a roll. Decorate the remaining pita breads in the same way.
  8. Place all four pieces on a baking sheet covered with parchment and brush with beaten egg.
  9. Bake the strudel with apples at 190 - 195 degrees for about a quarter of an hour.

If desired, you can sprinkle the baked goods with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon before placing them in the oven. Then the delicacy will come out with an amazing crispy sweet cinnamon crust.

An option for those who adhere to proper nutrition

Even adherents of proper nutrition can treat themselves to this dessert. But in this case it needs to be prepared according to a special recipe.

Ingredients:

  • thin pita bread - 1 sheet;
  • pear – 1 large;
  • cottage cheese – 130 – 150 g;
  • apples – 2 medium;
  • raisins + nuts (any) – 1 small handful;
  • liquid honey – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • raw yolk – 1 pc.;
  • cinnamon and any sweetener - to taste.

To make the delicacy especially juicy and aromatic, you need to choose ripe sweet fruits. The pear should be soft.

Preparation:

  1. All fruits should be cut into small cubes directly with the skin.
  2. Spread the pita bread and spread cottage cheese mixed with honey over it in a thin layer.
  3. Scatter fruits, washed dried fruits and chopped nuts on top.
  4. Sprinkle everything with cinnamon and sweetener. For example, stevia. But usually only those with a true sweet tooth need such an additive, because thanks to dried fruits the treat turns out sweet and tasty even without stevia and other similar ingredients.
  5. Roll the base with the filling into a roll and place on a baking sheet with parchment. Coat the surface of the future dessert with whipped raw yolk.
  6. Bake the PP pita bread strudel for a little less than half an hour at medium temperature.

The tastiest delicacy is obtained with an assortment of numerous components.

Ingredients:

  • Armenian lavash – 1 sheet;
  • assorted dried fruits - 1 full glass;
  • apples – 4 pcs.;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. l. (you can take less or more, according to your taste);
  • walnuts (peeled) – 1 handful;
  • sour cream – 3 – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • powdered sugar.

Preparation:

  1. Chop the peeled apples into thin slices and simmer in a cast iron frying pan with sugar until most of the fruit juice has evaporated.
  2. Rinse dried fruits, soak in warm water for half an hour, and then cut into small pieces. It is delicious to use prunes, raisins, dried apricots, and figs.
  3. Sprinkle everything with cinnamon and turn off the heat.
  4. Place lavash on the table. Coat it with sour cream of any fat content.
  5. Distribute softened apples, chopped nuts and pieces of dried fruit on top.
  6. Roll the workpiece into a roll. Also coat it with sour cream on top.
  7. Bake on a baking sheet at 200 degrees until golden brown.

Sprinkle the finished delicacy generously with powdered sugar, cut into pieces and serve with tea.

Lavash strudel with apples from Yulia Vysotskaya

Julia always offers interesting variations of familiar recipes. So, she adds blueberry jam and poppy seeds to her apple pita strudel.

Ingredients:

  • sour apples – 2 pcs.;
  • poppy seed – 2 tbsp. l.;
  • sugar – 2 tbsp. l.;
  • thin pita bread – 1 pc.;
  • peanuts – 40 – 60 g;
  • blueberry jam – 3 – 4 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

  1. Pour boiling water over the poppy seeds, cover the container with a lid and leave for 7 - 8 minutes.
  2. Lightly dry the nuts in a frying pan, then grind them into crumbs using a blender.
  3. Cut the fruits together with the peel into slices. Sprinkle with sugar. Simmer over medium heat for 12 - 14 minutes, stirring gently so that the mass does not turn into porridge.
  4. Add squeezed poppy seeds and peanut crumbs. Mix the filling with blueberry jam.
  5. Distribute the resulting mixture over the flattened pita bread and roll it into a roll. Coat the top of the workpiece with melted butter.
  6. Bake the strudel at medium temperature for just under half an hour.

Cooking with cinnamon

This is a simple version of the treat, the filling of which includes only apples and cinnamon. To prepare diet strudel, you just need to reduce the amount of butter in the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • sheet of thin lavash – 1 pc.;
  • fresh sweet apples – 4 pcs.;
  • granulated sugar – 1/3 cup;
  • butter – 20 – 30 g;
  • cinnamon (necessarily freshly ground) – ½ tsp.

Preparation:

  1. Wash the fruits and thinly cut off the peel. Remove the center with the seeds. Cut the remaining apples into medium pieces of any shape.
  2. Place the fruit slices into the frying pan along with the cinnamon and all the sweet sand. Wait until the sugar melts. It is important to stir it so that the sweet crystals do not burn.
  3. When the mixture in the frying pan boils, slightly reduce the heat and simmer for 7 - 8 minutes until the apple pieces are soft.
  4. Melt the butter and coat the entire pita bread with it. It is convenient to do this with a silicone brush.
  5. Distribute the contents of the pan evenly on top.
  6. Roll the base with the filling into a roll. Place in a heat-resistant form.
  7. Bake the delicacy for a little less than half an hour at medium temperature.

As soon as the top of the pita bread turns golden, you can immediately take it out of the oven and take a sample.

With added strawberries

Strawberries go well in a strudel filling with sweet apples. Both fresh and frozen berries will work.

Ingredients:

  • strawberries – 180 – 200 g;
  • medium fat sour cream – 3 – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • thin pita bread - 1 large sheet;
  • granulated sugar – 5 – 6 tbsp. l.;
  • apples – 2 pcs.;
  • powdered sugar – 2 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

  1. Place thin Armenian lavash on the table. Cover it completely with sour cream. There should be no unprocessed parts of the base left, but the sour cream should not be spread on the pita bread in a thick layer.
  2. Pour powdered sugar on top of the dairy product, spreading it over the entire surface.
  3. Peel the apples and remove the core and seeds. Cut the remaining part and strawberries into small pieces.
  4. Sprinkle the apples with sugar and simmer in a frying pan until soft. Mix the fruit mass, from which most of the liquid has already evaporated, with berry pieces.
  5. Spread the strawberry and apple filling on top of the sour cream and powdered sugar.
  6. To ensure that the strudel always turns out successful and tasty, you should follow the advice from experienced chefs:

    1. To prevent the filling from soaking the base, you need to take care of the component that absorbs fruit juice. For example, pita bread can be coated with breadcrumbs, ground biscuits or cottage cheese.
    2. To create an appetizing crust on top, lavash should be brushed with egg yolk.
    3. All kinds of spices will help make the filling more fragrant - cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom and any others to taste. You can even add citrus zest to it.

    It is the lavash strudel that has the minimum calorie content. If you prepare it according to the classic recipe, then it is only 202.5 kcal per 100 g of dessert. You can afford such a treat even on a diet, but in small portions.

A sweet treat made from thin dough with a soft fruit or berry filling, which is baked in the oven, many people mistakenly call it a roll.

However, the term “roll” means a meat delicacy, but the dessert beloved by Austrians and Germans is called strudel; today we propose to bake it from pita bread with apples in the oven. Homemade apple strudel from lavash: the best recipe

Ingredients

How to make lazy apple strudel from pita bread

How much sugar to put in baked goods depends on the degree of sweetness of the fruit. The cookie crumbs should absorb excess moisture from the juicy apple filling, and thereby prevent the cake from getting soggy, but you don’t have to add it.

  1. You need to prepare the fruit: wash them and then dry them with a towel to remove moisture.
  2. Next, the fruits need to be divided into quarters, the hard seed chambers taken out along with the seeds, and then cut into large cubes.
  3. At this stage of cooking, you can already turn on the oven - let it warm up, and in the meantime we will finish preparing the filling.
  4. Place oil in a saucepan. When it melts over low heat, lay out the apple cubes, sprinkle them with freshly squeezed lemon juice and sprinkle with sugar.
  5. After stirring the contents of the saucepan, reduce the heat to almost a minimum and simmer for about 5 minutes, remembering to stir. This must be done very carefully so that the apple cubes do not turn into mush: they should soften, but remain intact.
  6. Gently mix the cooled filling, seasoning it with cinnamon.
  7. We spread one pita bread on the table and cover the inside with a mixture of raw eggs and milk, and then sprinkle it with cookie crumbs.

8. Folding one of the edges of the flatbread inward, place the filling on the double base and wrap it in pita bread to the opposite edge.

The outer side of the pita bread should also be greased with egg: this will make the baked goods more juicy and prevent drying out when baking in the oven.

  1. Fill the second sheet of thin unleavened bread with the filling in the same way, roll it up, and place it on a baking sheet greased with oil (cow or vegetable oil without odor).

Baking time at minimum temperature is about 20 minutes. Before serving, the hot dessert can be poured with melted butter on top, sprinkled with sweet powder, and cut into portions (1-2 centimeters thick).

  • To make baked goods with a pronounced apple aroma, you need to take local fruits: they are more fragrant than imported ones, and their taste is richer.
  • If the peel on the fruit is not too hard, then it does not need to be removed.

Apple lavash strudel: recipe with nuts

Ingredients

  • Juicy fresh apples – 5 pcs.;
  • Thin Armenian lavash – 1 package;
  • Walnut kernels – 50 g;
  • Raisins – 50 g;
  • Small chicken eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • Fresh milk – 2 tbsp;
  • Sugar – 3-4 tbsp;
  • Low-fat soft cottage cheese – 50 g;
  • Cow butter – 100 g.

How to bake delicious strudel in pita bread with apples at home

  • We chop the washed apples, then simmer until the initial degree of softness in the same way as in the first option, adding sugar. Only in this case, you need to add raisins steamed in boiling water and dried, as well as peeled and crushed nut kernels to the apple slices.
  • While the filling is cooling, make a mash to grease the sheets. After breaking the egg into a bowl, fill it with milk and add cottage cheese. It is best to mix the ingredients with a blender: this way we will get perfect homogeneity without grains.

You need to spread the filling as we already did in the previous recipe: on the edge of the flatbread, folded in half and coated with egg wash.

  • When rolling the pita bread into a sausage, do not forget to generously grease the inner and outer surfaces with egg mixed with cottage cheese.
  • The semi-finished strudel, placed on a greased deco, needs to be soaked on top again with a raw egg to further brown the baked goods. Baking time for the treat at 180°C is 20 minutes.
  • It is better to place the pan with the semi-finished dessert in the upper part of the oven so that it does not burn on the bottom. Another option to avoid burning is to turn off the bottom heating, if the design of the stove allows such a maneuver.
  • The appearance of a golden, tender crust on the baked goods is a sure sign that it is ready and can be removed. You can serve the yummy in an original way: sprinkle it with nut crumbs and pour over apple syrup for additional soaking.

During the fresh fruit season, nothing is easier than quickly baking a treat for tea. Any of the simple and original recipes for lavash strudel with apples in the oven offered today is a real find for housewives who value their time.

You can also use pears as a filling, emphasizing their flavor with vanilla or a pinch of ground cardamom.

Cooking process:

In addition to apples, you can put soaked raisins or chopped walnuts in the strudel. They will give baked goods a new interesting taste.

Turn on the oven to preheat and begin preparing the apple filling.

Wash the apples and cut off the skin thinly. The more pulp remains on the fruit, the more it will go into the strudel. In a cold, clean, dry frying pan, cut the apples into small pieces. In fact, it doesn’t matter how you chop them; you can even grate them. In the strudel they will still turn into a sweet apple mass. Pour sugar and cinnamon into the pan.

Stir and place the apples over low heat to caramelize. Until the sugar melts, stir constantly so that it does not burn. When the apples boil, simmer them over the same low heat without a lid for about 7 minutes until the pieces are soft.

Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Remove the apples from the stove, unroll the lavash sheet and grease it with liquid oil. The roll turns out to be long, so for convenience, cut a sheet of Armenian lavash in half.

Place sweet and soft pieces on top and even them over the entire sheet.

Roll it up. Transfer it either to a baking sheet or into a baking dish.

Place the strudel in a hot oven for 20-25 minutes, cook at 180 degrees. When the pita bread is golden, you can take out the baked goods: it will be crispy on top and very juicy inside.
