2 2 Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, forever. Amen.] Troparions of the Trinity Rising from sleep, we fall down to Thee, the Gooder, and cry out to Thee, the Stronger, in the angelic song: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God! Mother of God have mercy on us. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. From bed and sleep You have raised me up, O Lord, enlighten my mind and heart, and open my lips to sing to You, O Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy are you, O God! Mother of God have mercy on us. And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Suddenly the Judge will come, and every deed will be revealed, but with fear we call at midnight: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God! Mother of God have mercy on us.

3 3 Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, Holy Trinity, for for the sake of Thy goodness and long-suffering, You were not angry with me, lazy and sinful, nor did You destroy me with my iniquities, but You usually loved mankind, and in desperation, Thou hast raised me up, in order to exercise and glorify Thy power. And now enlighten my mental eyes, open my lips, learn from Your words, and understand Your commandments, and do Your will, and sing to You in confession of the heart, and glorify Your all-holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and ever. forever and ever. Amen. [Come, let us worship our King God. (bow) Come, let us bow down and fall down to Christ, our King God. (bow) Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (bow)

4 4 Creed 1 I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. 2 And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. 3 For our sake, man and for our salvation came down from heaven, and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became human. 4 She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. 5 And he rose again on the third day according to the Scripture. 6 And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. 7 And the one who is to come will judge with glory the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end. 8 And in the Holy Spirit, the Life-Giving Lord, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the Prophets. 9 Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. 10 I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.

5 5 11 I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, 12 and the life of the world to come. Amen.]* * These prayers are not found in the Orthodox Explanatory Prayer Book of 1907 in the section Morning Prayers. The Symbol of Faith is given in the section The beginnings of Christian teaching, which every Orthodox Christian needs to know. And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Open the doors of mercy to us, blessed Mother of God, who hope

17 17 May we not perish on You, but may we be delivered from troubles by You: for You are the salvation of the Christian race. Prayer to God the Father St. Macarius the Great, Eternal God and King of every creature, who has made me worthy even at this hour, forgive me the sins I have committed this day in deed, word and thought, and cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. And grant me, O Lord, to pass through this sleep in peace at night, so that, rising from my humble bed, I will please Your most holy name all the days of my life, and will trample the enemies of the flesh and the incorporeal who fight me. And deliver me, Lord, from vain thoughts that defile me, and from evil lusts. For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Prayer to the Holy Guardian Angel Angel of Christ, my holy guardian and patron of soul and body

18 18 of mine, forgive me in all things that have sinned this day, and deliver me from all the wickedness of the enemy who opposes me, so that I will not anger my God in any sin; but pray for me, a sinful and unworthy servant, that you may show me worthy of the goodness and mercy of the All-Holy Trinity, and the Mother of my Lord Jesus Christ, and all the saints. Amen. Prayers to the Most Holy Theotokos, Glorious Ever-Virgin, Mother of Christ God, bring our prayer to Thy Son and our God, that through Thee our souls may be saved. I place all my trust in You, Mother of God, keep me under Your roof. We take refuge under Your mercy, Virgin Mary! Do not despise our prayers in sorrows, but deliver us from troubles, O pure and blessed one. O all-sung Mother, who gave birth to all the saints, the Most Holy Word! Having accepted this present offering, deliver everyone from all misfortunes, and remove future torments from those who cry out for You: Alleluia.

19 19 It is worthy to eat as you truly bless Theotokos, ever-blessed and most immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption. Prayer Enlighten my eyes, O Christ God, so that not when I fall asleep into death, and not when my enemy says: “Be strong against him.” [Be the protector of my soul, O God, as I walk in the midst of many snares; deliver me from them and save me, O Good One who loves mankind.] My hope is the Father, my refuge is the Son, my protection is the Holy Spirit: Holy Trinity, glory to Thee. Repentant prayer: Relax, forgive, forgive, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word and in deed, even in knowledge and not in knowledge, even in days and in nights, even in mind and in thought: forgive us everything, as Good and Lover of Humanity.

20 20 Prayer to the Lord Forgive those who hate and offend us, O Lord, Lover of mankind. Do good to those who do charity. Grant to our brothers and relatives the same petitions for salvation and eternal life. Visit those who are infirm and grant healing. You can control the sea. Travel with those who travel. Contribute to the coming EMPEROR. Grant forgiveness of sins to those who serve and have mercy on us. Have mercy on those who have commanded us unworthy to pray for them according to Your great mercy. Remember, Lord, our fathers and brothers who have fallen before us, and give them rest, where the light of Your face shines. Remember, Lord, our captive brothers and deliver me from every situation. Remember, Lord, those who bear fruit and do good in Your holy churches, and give them petitions for salvation and eternal life. Remember, O Lord, us, humble and sinful and unworthy Thy servants, and

21 21 Enlighten our mind with the light of Thy mind, and guide us on the path of Thy commandments, through the prayers of our Most Pure Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and all Thy saints: for blessed art thou unto the ages of ages. Amen. Prayer to the Honest Cross May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His face. As smoke disappears, let them disappear; As wax melts in the face of fire, so let demons perish from the presence of those who love God and who signify the sign of the cross and say in joy: Rejoice, O Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away demons by the power of You, our Lord Jesus Christ, who was cast down into hell and trampled upon the power of the devil, and gave us to you, Your Honest Cross, to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.

22 22 III. PRAYERS BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION Prayer of St. Basil the Great Master Lord Jesus Christ, our God, the Source of life and immortality, of all creation, visible and invisible, to the Creator, of the beginningless Father, co-essential with the Son and co-originating, much for the sake of goodness in the last days, he clothed himself in flesh and was crucified, and was buried for us, ungrateful and malicious, and With His Blood, renewing our nature, corrupted by sin; You, Immortal King, accept my sinful repentance, and incline Your ear to me, and hear my words. For I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned in heaven and before You, and I am not worthy to look upon the height of Your glory: I have angered Your goodness, having transgressed Your commandments, and not listened to Your commands. But You, Lord, are kind, long-suffering and abundantly merciful, and did not give me up to perish with my iniquities, waiting for my conversion in every possible way. Thou art, O Lover of mankind, Thy prophet:

23 23 For I do not desire the death of the sinner by will, but rather that he should turn and live to be him. You do not want, Master, to destroy your creation by hand, nor do you have any good will about the destruction of mankind, but you want to save everyone and come into the mind of truth. Likewise, I, even though I am unworthy of heaven and earth, and sow temporary life, having subjected myself to sin, and enslaved myself with pleasure, and desecrated Your image; but having become Thy creation and creature, I do not despair of my salvation, the accursed one, but daring to come to Thy immeasurable compassion. Accept me, O Lord, who loves mankind, as a harlot, as a thief, as a publican, and as a prodigal, and take away my heavy burden of sins, take away the sin of the world and heal human infirmities, call the toiling and burdened to Yourself and give rest, who did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. And cleanse me from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and teach me to perform holiness in Thy passion: for by the pure knowledge of my conscience, Thy holy things

24 24 Having accepted the part, I will be united to Your holy Body and Blood, and I have You living and abiding in me, with the Father and Your Holy Spirit. To her, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, may the communion of Thy pure and life-giving Mysteries not be a judgment against me; let me also be weak in soul and body, so that I am not worthy to receive communion; but grant me, even before my final breath, to uncondemnably receive part of Thy holy things, in communion with the Holy Spirit, as a way of life eternal, and in a favorable answer at Thy terrible judgment: for even I, with all Thy chosen ones, will be a partaker of Thy incorruptible blessings, even Thou hast prepared for those who love Thee, O Lord, in whom Thou art glorified forever. Amen. Prayer of St. John Chrysostom Lord, my God, knowing that I am not worthy, I am content below, so that under the shelter of the temple of my soul you have entered, all empty and fallen, and there is no place in me worthy of bowing your head; but just as from on high you humbled us for our sake

25 25 To yourself, humble yourself and now to my humility; and as you received it in the den and in the wordless manger, reclining, take it in the wordless manger of my soul, and bring it into my defiled body. And just as you did not fail to bring in and shine a light on the sinners in the house of Simon the leper, so deign to bring into the house of my humble soul, lepers and sinners; and even though You did not reject a harlot and a sinner like me, who came and touched You, have mercy on me, a sinner, who comes and touches You; and just as you did not abhor her foul and unclean lips kissing Thee, below mine, abhor those defiled and unclean lips, below my vile and unclean lips, and my foul and unclean tongue. But may the coal of Your most holy Body, and Your honorable Blood, be for me, for the sanctification and enlightenment and health of my humble soul and body, for the relief of the severity of my many sins, for the observance

26 26 from every act of the devil, to drive away and forbid my evil and evil custom, to mortify passions, to supply Thy commandments, to apply Thy Divine grace, and to appropriate Thy Kingdom. I do not come to You, O Christ our God, despising You, but rather daring in Your ineffable goodness; and let it not be in the depths of Thy fellowship that I be hunted down by the mental wolf. In the same way, I pray to You: as the only Holy One, Master, sanctify my soul and body, mind and heart, womb and womb, and renew all of me, and root Your fear in my hearts, and create Your sanctification inseparably from me; and be my helper and intercessor, feeding my belly in the world, making me worthy to stand at Your right hand with Your saints, the prayers and supplications of Your Most Pure Mother, Your immaterial servants and the Most Pure Powers, and all the saints who have pleased You from the ages. Amen.

27 27 Prayer of Simeon Metaphrast For at Your terrible and impartial judgment stand, O Christ God, and raising condemnation, and creating a word about the evil things I have done: this day, before the day of my condemnation has even come, I stand at Your holy altar before You and before the terrible and by Thy holy Angels, bowed down by my conscience, I offer my evil and lawless deeds, reveal this and convict. See, O Lord, my humility, and forgive all my sins: see how my iniquity has multiplied more than the hair of my head. What evil have you done? what sin have I not committed? What evil have you not imagined in my soul? For I have already committed pride, arrogance, reproach, idle talk, inappropriate laughter, selfishness, love of glory, untruth: every feeling and every evil of mine has been defiled, corrupted, indecent, I have created, having become a workman of the devil in every way. And we know, Lord, that my iniquities have exceeded my head: but the multitude of Your mercies is immeasurable, and Your kindly mercy is inexpressible

28 28 goodness, and there is no sin, conquering Your love for mankind. Moreover, wonderful King, kindly Lord, surprise me, a sinner, with Your mercy, show Your goodness the power, and show the strength of Your gracious mercy, and when you turn, accept me, a sinner. Receive me as you received the prodigal, the robber, the harlot. Accept me, having sinned against You beyond measure in word and deed and in wordless thought. And just as at the one and tenth hour you accepted those who came, having done nothing worthy, so accept also me, the sinner: for many have sinned, and have become defiled, and have grieved Thy Holy Spirit, and have grieved Thy humane womb in deed and word and thought, in the night and in the day, manifested and unmanifested, willingly and unwillingly. And we know that you have presented my sins before me as such, as I have committed, and have spoken with me about them who have sinned unforgivenly in their minds. But, Lord, Lord, do not reprove me with Thy righteous judgment, nor with Thy wrath, nor with Thy wrath

29 29 Punish me: have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am not only weak, but also Your creation. For Thou, O Lord, hast Thou established Thy fear upon me: I have done evil before Thee, for Thee alone have I sinned: but I pray Thee, do not enter into judgment with Thy servant. If God, Lord, sees iniquity, who will stand? For I am the abyss of sin, and I am not worthy, nor am I content to look up and see the heights of heaven, because of the multitude of my sins, which are innumerable. Why haven't my sins been corrupted? by which are not kept evil? Every sin I have committed, every uncleanness I have put into my soul, would be undesirable for You, my God, and man. Who will raise me up, in the face of evil and a bit of fallen sin? Lord my God, I trust in You: if I have hope for salvation, if Your love for mankind overcomes the multitude of my iniquities, be my Savior, and according to Your generosity and Your mercy, weaken, forgive, forgive me all that You have sinned: for my soul is filled with many evils mine, and there is in me the salvation of hope. Have mercy on me, O God, in great measure

30 30 Thy mercy, and do not reward me according to my deeds, and do not judge me according to my deeds: but convert, intercede, deliver my soul from the evils and cruel perceptions that co-increase with it. Save me for the sake of Thy mercy: that where sin has multiplied, Thy grace may abound, and I will praise and glorify Thee always, all the days of my life. For You are the God of those who repent and the Savior of those who sin, and we send up glory to You, with Your beginningless Father, and Your Most Holy, Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Prayer of St. Simeon the New Theologian From unclean lips, from a vile heart, from an unclean tongue, from a soul defiled, accept this prayer, my Christ, and do not despise my words, below images, below lack of study. Grant me to boldly say what I want, my Christ; and moreover, teach me what it is proper for me to do and say. Those who have sinned more than the harlot, having known where you live, having bought myrrh, have come

31 31 boldly anoint your nose, my God, my Lord and my Christ. Just as you did not reject the one that came from your heart, abhor me below, the Word: Give yours to my nose and hold and kiss, and boldly anoint this with streams of tears, like a valuable ointment. Wash me with my tears, cleanse me with them, O Word. Forgive my sins and grant my petition. Weigh the multitude of evils, weigh my scabs, and see my ulcers: but also weigh my faith, and see my will, and hear my groaning. There is no hidden part of you, my God, my Creator, my Savior, below a drop of tears, below a drop of a certain part. Thy eyes have seen what I have not done, and in Thy book the essence of what has not yet been done is written to You. See my humility, see my great labor, and forgive me all my sins, O God of all: so that with a pure heart, a trembling thought, and a contrite soul, I may partake of Your undefiled and most holy Mysteries, by which everyone who eats and drinks with a pure heart is revived and adored; You're more

32 32 You said, my Lord: everyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood, this one abides in Me, in whom I am. The word of all my Lord and God is true: for you partake of the divine and adoring graces, for I am not alone, but with You, my Christ, the trisolar light that enlightens the world. May I not be alone besides You, the Life-Giver, my breath, my life, my joy, the salvation of the world. For this reason, I come to You, as if I saw you, with tears and a contrite soul, I ask you to accept the deliverance of my sins, and to partake of Your life-giving and immaculate Mysteries without condemnation, so that You may remain, as You promised, with me, the three-repentant: that I may not find Your grace except , the deceiver will delight me with the flatterer, and deceiving will lead away those who idolize Your words. For this reason I fall down to You, and cry out to You warmly: as You received the prodigal, and the harlot who came, so receive me, the prodigal and the defiled, Generously. With a broken soul,

33 33 For now, coming to You, we know, O Savior, as another as I, did not sin against You, lower than the deeds that I have committed. But we know this again, because not the greatness of sins, nor the multitude of sins exceeds my God’s great patience and extreme love for mankind; but by the grace of compassion, warmly repentant, and purifying, and brightening, and creating light, you are partakers, associates of Your Divinity, doing unenviably, and strange things with both the Angel and human thought, conversing with them many times, as if with Your true friend. This is the bold thing they do to me, this is what they force me to do, O my Christ. And daring to show us your rich kindness, rejoicing and trembling together, the grass partakes of the fire, and a strange miracle, we are watered without burning, just as the bush of old was burning without burning. Now with a grateful thought, with a grateful heart, with grateful hands, soul and body, I worship and magnify and glorify Thee, my God, as blessed is the dry land, now and forever.

34 34 IV. PRAYERS AFTER HOLY COMMUNION I thank Thee, O Lord my God, for Thou hast not rejected me as a sinner, but hast made me worthy to be a partaker of Thy holy things. I thank You, for You have vouchsafed me, unworthy, to partake of Your most pure and heavenly Gifts. But, Lord, Lover of Mankind, for our sake, who died and rose again, and gave us this terrible and life-giving Sacrament for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies, grant this to me too, for the healing of soul and body, for the driving away of all that is contrary, for the enlightenment of the eyes of the heart. mine, into the world of my spiritual strength, into unashamed faith, into unfeigned love, in fulfillment of wisdom, in observance of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy Divine grace and Thy Kingdom appropriation: let us preserve those in Thy shrine, I always remember Thy grace, and to no one I live for myself, but for You

35 35 to our Master and Benefactor; And thus, having come from this life with the hope of the eternal life, I will achieve everlasting peace, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and endless sweetness, who behold the indescribable kindness of Your face. For You are the true desire and the inexpressible joy of those who love You, Christ our God, and all creation sings to You forever. Amen. Prayer of St. Basil the Great Master Christ God, King of the ages and Creator of all, I thank Thee for all the good things Thou hast bestowed upon me, and for the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Mysteries. I pray to Thee, O Kinder and Lover of Mankind: keep me under Thy roof, and in the shadow of Thy wing; and grant me with a clear conscience, even until my last breath, to worthily partake of Your holy things, for the remission of sins and eternal life. For You are the living bread, the source of holiness, the Giver of good things, and we send up glory to You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

36 36 Prayer of Simeon Metaphrastus, Who has given me flesh to eat by Thy will, O fire and scorch of the unworthy, do not scorch me, my Creator; rather, go into my mouth, into all my parts, into my womb, into my heart. The thorns of all my sins have fallen: cleanse my soul, sanctify my thoughts, strengthen my bones and bones, enlighten my senses, the simple five, nail me all to Thy fear. Cover me always, keep me, and save me from every deed and word of the soul. Cleanse, wash, and adorn me, fertilize, enlighten, and enlighten me. Show me Your village of the one Spirit, and not to anyone the village of sin: but like Your house, the entrance of communion, like fire, every evildoer, every passion flees from me. I offer prayer books to You, all the saints, the orders of the incorporeal, Your Forerunner, wise Apostles, and to this Your undefiled, pure Mother, accept their prayers, O Gracious Mother, my Christ, and make Your servant a son of light. You are one and

Another prayer May Thy holy Body, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, be unto me in eternal life, and Thy venerable Blood for the remission of sins: may this thanksgiving be to me joy, health and gladness; at Thy terrible and second coming, vouchsafe me, a sinner, to the right hand of Thy glory, through the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother and all the saints. Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos Most Holy Lady Theotokos, light of my darkened soul, hope, protection, refuge, consolation, my joy, I thank You for You have made me worthy, unworthy, to be a partaker of the most pure Body and honorable Blood of Your Son. But having given birth to the true Light, enlighten my intelligent eyes of the heart; You who gave birth to the Source of immortality, revive the dead me

38 38 sin; Even the merciful Mother of God, have mercy on me, and give me tenderness, and contrition in my heart, and humility in my thoughts, and appeal in the captivity of my thoughts; and grant me, until my last breath, to uncondemnably receive the sanctification of the most pure Mysteries for the healing of soul and body; and give me tears of repentance and confession, to sing and praise Thee all the days of my life, for Thou art blessed and glorified forever. Amen. Prayer after Holy Communion (Elder Hieroschemamonk Sampson)* With Your Most Pure Body, Your Most Pure Blood, Jesus, my Savior, You renew me entirely: renew my heart, renew my soul, renew my body, renew my mind, renew my will, renew my life. Take from me my heavy burden of sin. Heal my heart. Kill my passions. Teach me to pray, teach me to repent. Teach me to cry, teach me to cry out to You.

39 39 Humble my heart, humble my mind, heal my pride. Let me now make a good start. Accept my repentance, do not leave me, do not retreat from me. Let me cry for my sins, let me confess my sins, do not leave me, do not leave me for my criminal sins. Have mercy on me according to Your great mercy. Spare me. Don't reject me. Give me kindness, give me meekness, give me chastity, give me patience, give me obedience, give me silence, give me constant self-judgment and attention to myself. Give me fiery, fiery, stony, intelligently clear faith. Let me hate sin, let me leave sin. Nail me with Your fear, cover me with Your fear, let me love You with all my heart, with all my thought, with all my mind, with all my veins, to cleave to You, to live for You, not to myself, not to sin. Create with me

40 40 Your mercy. In everything, in everything, let Your will be done. Amen. Give me ears to hear You, give me taste to taste You, give me noses to come to You, give me a heart to fear You, give me a heart to love You. Take what is mine from me and let me do Your will. Take away the old and give me a new one, take away the stony heart and give me a fiery heart that loves You, beseeches You, weeps for You, repents for You, sighs for You, fears You, lives for You, not for itself, not for sin. Give me a meek, humble, whole-wise, pure, patient heart, fearing sin, hating sin. Be the food and drink of my soul. Be the source of my thirsty soul. Be the light of my mind and heart darkened by sin. Be a consolation in my sorrow. Bring joy to my sorrow. Be a deliverance against my passions. Be wisdom against my madness. Be humble against my pride. Be a fortification against

41 41 my weaknesses. Be strength against my weakness. I believe, help my unbelief. PRAYERS FOR DAILY USE Prayer of St. To the Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas, Holy Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas, who saved Russia from the death of a cathedral, pray to Christ God to save our souls. Amen. Troparion of St. To the Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas (4th voice) to the Sacrifice of Christ in likeness, / like an immaculate Lamb, by the will / of the atonement / of the sin of treason of the People

42 42 Russian, / to a kingdom divided within itself / granting healing within itself, / holy Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas, / we glorify your mortal suffering, / through them the kingdom is resurrected / for the glory of the Heavenly God-Tsar, / and for the salvation of our souls. Russian Creed (Prayer of St. Theodosius of the Caucasus) I believe, Lord, in the Orthodox Royal Autocracy, sworn by the Holy Spirit for eternal times by the consecrated Council and the Russian people in 1613 from the Incarnation of Christ for the peace and prosperity of our Fatherland and for the salvation of the soul, as All the Russian saints of God of recent centuries taught the same thing. Amen. Prayer for the restoration of the Kingdom of Russia * Lord, our God, accept our prayer for Your Holy Church, for all Your people, whom You have sanctified with Your venerable Blood. Accept this prayer for the faithful

43 43 Tsars and Tsaritses, Princes and Princesses, bishops and priests, monks and Beltsekhs, warriors and infants, who fought for the Faith of the Tsar and the Fatherland, especially from the Jews and those slandered by Satan who were martyred. And with their prayers crush and destroy the lawless sacrifice brought to the Russian lands by the demon. Grant [to all Orthodox Christians to understand that for our perjured treason You have taken the Tsar away from Your people. Open the intelligent eyes of your hearts to your people, to see that from that betrayal they were all bought with the blood of the holy Tsar Nicholas, in Christ’s likeness, so that together we may glorify the Tsar as the Redeemer in Christ’s Glory, and so from repentance we will come to repentance, for this reason we were bought from the common death; and grant] to us in the last times the Autocratic Tsar and His Orthodox Kingdom as a shield and fence, preservation and salvation of His holy Church.

44 44 Remember us, and all Your people, our fathers and brethren, about the restoration of the Orthodox Kingdom of those who strive and strengthen with the power of Your Holy Spirit in battles to endure and withstand to the end, and be granted heavenly crowns. For it is Yours to have mercy and to save us, our God, and to You we send glory, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen. * The compilers placed texts in square brackets that were not in the original of this prayer. Prayer for the resurrection of the Kingdom of Orthodox Rus', Lord! Jesus Christ, the Son and Word of God! Prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, the Ever-Virgin Mary, the holy Tsar the Redeemer Nicholas, the holy Royal New Martyrs: the holy Queen Alexandra Novaya, the holy Tsarevich Alexy, the holy princesses: Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia, the holy saints: Tsar Ivan the Terrible, Emperor Paul the First, St. righteous Theodore

45 45 of Tomsk, the holy righteous Faith of Novgorod, St. Nicholas Myra of Lycia, the wonderworker, the holy elder new martyr and wonderworker Gregory the New, the holy elder Nicholas of Pskovoyezersk, the holy new martyrs of Russia, who laid down their lives for the Faith, the Tsar and the Fatherland, and all Your saints, have mercy on us, save and resurrect Tsarist Orthodox Rus'! Grant us the Sovereign, Your Anointed Orthodox Tsar from the Reigning House of Romanov. Forgive us for deviating from the conciliar oath of faithful service to the Royal Romanov dynasty from generation to generation. Forgive us for forgetting: “whoever goes against this will be cursed in this century and the next, he will be excommunicated from the Holy Trinity.” Forgive us for breaking this vow and accept repentance for this sin. Help us, Lord! Lead us to collective repentance of this sin and give us strength to endure the Jewish yoke with humility, patience and gratitude, as

46 46 Your penance for the sin of betrayal of the holy Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas and the entire Royal family of the Romanovs. Amen. Prayer for finding the King, Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Russian State without the cover of conciliarity. Her crown is orphaned, the Fatherland is crying without a Father. The foot of the Throne of God is in the hands of scoffers for Russia’s renunciation of its God-anointed One. Most Holy Theotokos, our Intercessor, ask Your Son and our God Jesus Christ to send us the sweetest Hope of the whole Earth, the Russian Tsar after His heart. May the clear Sun, the village of Christ, rise above us, and rejoice like a giant, conqueror of darkness. Amen. Prayer against sedition God of hosts, King of kings and Lord of lords! In Your hand is the king's heart and the power of all the earth. You

47 47 You place kings on their thrones and say about them: “Through Me kings reign; do not touch My anointed.” Look with Thy merciful eye on Thy suffering people, in whom, for their apostasy from Thy Anointed One, disorder has greatly multiplied and there is no peace, no weakness, no repentance in our houses. O Omniscient One, You weigh our misfortune. Forgive us sinners, have mercy on Your people, before You, O Merciful One, who shed their tears! May Thy name, our Savior, be glorified among our perishing brothers, and may the evil adversary be put to shame. May we not be destroyed from the face of the earth, for the prayer of the martyred Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas prevails upon us. And deliver us from the yoke of the Jews, we know that this is Your permission, O Lord, and Your anger for the people’s denial of their God-anointed One. Gather the Russian land; remove all

48 48 sedition, discord and disorder; Calm your hearts, overwhelmed by passions. And now preserve Thy servant and our King whom You have chosen; protect Him with righteousness and peace; speak good and peaceful things in His heart about Your Church and about Your people; send Him faithful warriors and advisers, filled with wisdom and holyly fulfilling His will; breathe courage into the hearts of those who stand guard over the royal autocracy, established by You, O God, for the good of Your people. Illuminate all of us with the light of Thy Gospel law, warm our hearts with the warmth of Thy grace, confirm our will on the paths of fulfilling Thy will, and grant us humility and patience, as in ancient times, so now on our land, and in us, and through us Thy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, will be glorified. Amen.

Arise to our aid, look upon lost Rus' and Your people, hear the sinful slaves praying to You, and beg Christ God and the Most Pure Mother of God, who showed You Her holy image, to reveal the autocratic Tsar,

Ask the Most Holy Theotokos and us, who glorify you, to bestow God’s Grace, and to spread Your Holy Protection over us and to console us with Your blessing. Ask us from the holy Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas for the strength to humbly accept God's providence for us; patiently

53 53 to bear the orphan's cross with our widowed mother, the earthly Church, until the Lord reveals the Tsar; and always thank God for everything. Holy righteous servant Nicholas, ask Christ the Savior Almighty, for the prayers of the Most Pure Mother of God and for the atoning Royal sacrifice, to resurrect Holy Rus' from the dead by the appearance of the victorious Tsar. So that we may serve worthy of God, the Tsar and the earthly Fatherland and be saved by them, and move to you, Nicholas, in the Heavenly Kingdom, where with you and all the saints we glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Troparion to the Righteous Nicholas of Pskovozersky (voice 4) Divine Grace, the bearer of Divine Grace, the confessor of the Orthodox Faith, the inexhaustible vessel of Christ’s love, you were the image of abstinence. In detail: prayer, glory to you, our God - from all open sources and different parts of the world on the site for our dear readers.

Listed below prayers useful to know by heart.

Rising from sleep, before doing anything else, stand reverently, presenting yourself before the All-Seeing God, and, making the sign of the cross, say):
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
(Then wait a little until all your feelings come to silence and your thoughts leave everything earthly, and then say the following prayers, without haste and with heartfelt attention:

Publican's Prayer

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Trisagion
Read three times, with the sign of the cross and a bow from the waist).

Lord's Prayer

Song of the Virgin Mary
Virgin Mary, Rejoice, Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You: blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls.

Psalm 50
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. You alone have I sinned and done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words, and triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. My hearing brings joy and joy; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the evildoers will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit: a contrite and humble heart God will not despise. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.

Symbol of faith
I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, by whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and died and was buried. And she rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets. Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century. Amen.

Troparion to the Cross and prayer for the Fatherland
Save, O Lord, Thy people, and bless Thy inheritance, granting victories against resistance, and preserving Thy residence through Thy Cross.

Prayer for the living
Save, Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father (name), my parents (names), relatives (names), bosses, mentors, benefactors (their names) and all Orthodox Christians.

Prayer for the departed
Rest, O Lord, the souls of Your departed servants: my parents, relatives, benefactors (their names), and all Orthodox Christians, and forgive them all sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant them the Kingdom of Heaven.

At the end of every prayer and every deed
It is worthy to eat as truly to bless Thee, Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify You, the most honorable Cherub and the most Glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.

Jesus Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Psalm 90
Living in the help of the Most High, he will settle in the shelter of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: Thou art my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the snare of hunters, and from rebellious words, His lashes will overshadow you, and under His wing you hope: His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies during the day, from the things that pass in the darkness, from the fallings, and from the demon of the midday. A thousand will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come close to you, otherwise you will look at your eyes, and you will see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope, You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not approach your body, as His Angel commanded you, keeping you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but not when you dash your foot on a stone, step on an asp and a basilisk, and cross a lion and a serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, and because I have known My name. He will call to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him, and I will glorify him, I will fill him with long days, and I will show him My salvation.

God's commandments
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. The second is similar to it: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. (Gospel of Matthew, ch. 22, v. 37-39)

Ten Commandments of God:
I am the Lord your God. Let there be no blessings for you, except for Men.
Thou shalt not make for thyself an idol, or any likeness, such as the tree in heaven, or the tree below on earth, or the tree in the waters under the earth, lest thou worship them, nor serve them.
Do not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy: do it six days, and in them do all your work. On the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
Honor your father and your mother, may you be well, and may you live long on earth.
Thou shalt not kill.
Don't commit adultery.
Don't steal.
Do not listen to your friend's false testimony.
Thou shalt not covet thy true wife, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, nor his village, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any of his livestock, nor any of his neighbor's trees.

(Book of Exodus, chapter 20, vv. 2,4-5,7,8-10,12-17)

Gospel beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for to them is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are those who cry, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blesseds of mercy, for there will be mercy.
Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for these shall be called sons of God.
Blessed is the expulsion of truth for the sake of them, for those are the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile you, and ridicule you, and say all kinds of evil things about you lying to Me for my sake. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is abundant in heaven.

(Gospel of Matthew, ch. 5, v. 3-12)

Three virtues: 1. Faith. 2. Hope. 3. Love.

Complete collection and description: prayer, thank you, my God, for the sorrow sent to the spiritual life of a believer.

These passions often rule in the souls of those who, rejecting the Heavenly, cling tightly to the earthly.

That is, at its deepest basis, despondency is a consequence of disbelief in the saving Providence of God.

The prayer should be said extremely slowly. Having said your prayer once, rest for a while. Then say it again and rest again. Continue praying like this for five or ten minutes until you feel your soul calmed and comforted. The reason for this is clear: the grace and power of God lies in praising God, and not in eloquence and verbosity.

He must himself be the master of everything that happens within him, the master of his powers.”

“No sorrows - no salvation,” says Rev. Seraphim of Sarov

And Rev. Simeon the New Theologian instructs us this way:

“Just as clothing, stained with dirt and completely defiled by some kind of uncleanness, cannot be cleaned unless washed in water and washed for a long time, so the robe of the soul, defiled by the mud and pus of sinful passions, cannot be washed otherwise, unless by many tears and suffering temptations and sorrows."

Saint Nicodemus the Holy Mountain instructs us this way:

“Whether you are sick or poor, endure. God does not require anything from you except patience. By enduring complacently, you will continuously be in good deeds. When God does not look at you, He will see that you do good and remain in goodness.”

Let us hold in our hearts the wondrous and great words of the Apostle Paul:

“Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Teachings of the Venerable Confessor Nikon of Optina (1888–1931)

Honoring the memory of the confessor of God, we publish his instructions and teachings. Peter's Fast is underway - although the fast is short, it is, perhaps, to some extent more difficult, because it is hard to limit yourself in the summer, when nature is so abundant and joyful. Let the elder’s words strengthen us.

“A sorrowless life is a sign of God’s displeasure towards man. One should not envy those who live without sorrow, for the end of their sorrowlessness is deplorable.”

“One should not boldly rush into the abyss of sorrows; this is prideful arrogance. But when sorrows come by themselves, do not be afraid of them, do not think that they came by chance, by coincidence. No, they were allowed by the incomprehensible Providence of God.”

“There has never been, is not and never will be a carefree place on earth. A sad place can only be in the heart when the Lord is in it.”

Every good deed and our faith must necessarily be tested. The test is made by tribulations

“Every good deed and our faith must necessarily be tested. The test is made by tribulations.”

“Sorrows are allowed so that it will be revealed who really loves God. Without enduring sorrows, even a grateful soul is incapable of the Kingdom of God. Firm endurance of sorrows is equivalent to martyrdom.”

“The fate of all who want to be saved is to suffer. Therefore, even if we suffer, let us rejoice, for our salvation is being accomplished.”

“Sorrow opens the entrance to the heart of the grace of God.”

Surrender to the will of God - you will find peace in your sorrowful soul and heart

“Grief is nothing more than an experience in our heart when something happens against our desire, our will. So that grief does not press painfully, you must renounce your will and humble yourself before God in all respects. God desires our salvation and builds it in ways that are incomprehensible to us. Surrender to the will of God, you will find peace in your sorrowful soul and heart.”

“I thank the Lord for everything. I grieve only when I reflect on the sorrow of those who grieve for me... But God’s will be done.”

“We must know that Divine Providence for us does not completely remove us from sorrows, does not remove them from us completely and does not deliver us from temptations, does not completely rid us of them, but gives us strength, firmness and courage to overcome them.”

On the conformity of the human will with the will of God

“I believe that the Lord builds my salvation by sending this or that. Believing in the Providence of God that cares for me, I am afraid to direct my life according to my own understanding. I observe how my own will brings sorrow and difficulties to people. May the will be good and perfect! I entrust myself, my whole life, and everyone to her: accepting God’s will brings peace to my heart.”

“Comprehension of the will of God is accessible to the pure through their lives. They receive the gift of spiritual reasoning, and it is higher than all virtues.”

“One layman asked Father Nikon:

- Tell me, father, how should I live?

Father Nikon, after thinking, replied:

– Have you read the Psalter?

You should not seek human truth, seek only God’s truth

– If you read it, you should remember that in one place there are these words: He will guide the meek in judgment, He will teach the meek in His way (Ps. 24:9). What do these words mean? And these words mean that the Lord Himself teaches the ways of the Lord, and not man. Yes, only the Lord Himself can teach the ways of the Lord, but He does not teach all people, but only the meek, because whoever humbles himself in heart makes his soul capable of accepting divine teaching. Only such people are taught by the Lord.”

“Only those who fulfill the commandments of Christ in their personal life can find the Lord. But if someone’s own will—“let it be my way”—is more valuable than the teachings of Christ, I will remain silent... Everyone will reap what he sows.”

“You should not seek human truth, seek only God’s truth.”

“If you completely rely on the will of God, then everything will be fine and the unpleasant will be taken for granted.”

Don't go a single day without prayer

“Follow your prayer rules; If for some reason it is impossible to fulfill the whole rule, then fulfill at least half, at least some part, and do not remain a single day without prayer. Know that if you omit the rule, if you abandon prayer, you will imperceptibly reach such a state that even if you want to pray, if you have a strong need to turn to God, you will not be able to do this, your heart will remain cold and callous and you will stand like a log. Through prayer one asks for God's crowns and attracts God's blessing. A person will call for a blessing, and it will come to him.”

“Don’t forget prayer - it is the life of the soul.”

“Prayer with surrender to the will of God has worked and continues to create miracles and makes the impossible possible.”

“Pray daily, both morning and evening, for those for whom you have wrong feelings, so that instead of dislike, pure love for the Lord may instill in you towards them, for you must love your neighbor in the Lord and for the Lord.”

“Where we are powerless, the only remedy is prayer.”

“The envy of the devil and all demons excites them to seek the destruction of people and fight against them, especially during the prayer of God’s servants, for through correct prayer a person can and does receive every good. The order of the fight against the enemy: specious thoughts - by paying attention to them the mind is deprived of freedom; obviously sinful thoughts - the mind, having lost freedom with the first thoughts, is conquered by the second. Hence the general rule: during prayer, reject every thought.”

“I prayed, read what was required, and was free - I served my duty. Such prayer does not produce good fruits. And such prayer happens to those who limit their appeal to God only by completing a rule or going to church, without striving for prayer to fill and sanctify their whole life, all their affairs.”

“We must pronounce the words of the prayer carefully, delve into the meaning, and not strive for too high... After all, if we read incorrectly, do not listen to what we read, then we console the demons.”

“Let the prayer rule be small, but fulfilled constantly and carefully.”

“Silence prepares the soul for prayer. Silence - how beneficial it is for the soul!”

“Fear is a manifestation of lack of confidence in one’s own strength. Courage is a manifestation of hope in the omnipotent power of God and help.”

“Nothing, nothing helps as much in obtaining healing from the ulcer caused by mortal sin as frequent confession; nothing, nothing helps so much to mortify the passion nestling in the heart as a thorough confession of all its manifestations, all its actions.”

“Repentance as the beginning of spiritual life. Repentance is necessary to accept the Gospel. The property of repentance opens the sight of one’s sins. Repentance leads to spiritual visions. Repentance requires renunciation of addictions and distractions. Falsely blessed calmness is self-delusion. Without repentance and crying, an attentive life does not bear any good fruit. It is necessary to pay attention to oneself, heart disease and contrition are necessary.”

“The path of repentance and awareness of one’s sinfulness is safe from demonic delusion. Seeing yourself as a saint is a sign of delusion and self-delusion. The success and joy of a monk is in the consciousness of his sinfulness, in the vision of his sins. You not only need to see your sinfulness, you also need to construct all your actions, your entire life and activity in full harmony with the consciousness and vision of your sinfulness.”

You can receive communion more often or less often, but you must confess more often, so that your conscience will always be clear and unsullied

“The repentant sinner, even being, as it were, forgotten by God, as it seems to him, according to the wonderful sight of God, gains spiritual benefit and comes to prosperity. Let's put aside despondency. The Lord leads us to salvation!”

“Reproaching oneself and realizing one’s guilt is the beginning of correction and the path to salvation.”

“You can take communion more often or less often, but you must confess more often, so that your conscience will always be clear and unsullied. Just as we always try to wash our body when we get it dirty in any way, so we must always keep our soul clean so that our conscience does not reproach us for anything.”

“We must consider everything bad, including the passions that fight us, not as our own, but as from the enemy - the devil. It is very important. Only then can you overcome passion when you don’t consider it yours.”

“Victory over passions is accomplished by the power of God. Our weak strength is not sufficient for this. We must humbly admit this and through humility attract God’s mercy and help to ourselves.”

““Daughter of Babylon, desolator. Blessed is he who takes and dashes your babies against a stone!” (cf. Ps. 136: 8–9). Babies here, as the holy fathers explain, are the passionate thoughts and passionate movements that arise. These passionate thoughts and movements, as soon as they arise, as soon as they are born, at the very beginning of their emergence, so to speak, in their infancy, not allowing them to grow, but while they are still small and not strengthened, they must be destroyed, broken up o Stone. And the Stone is Christ. Strike in the name of Jesus, destroy with the prayer of Jesus and, in general, with the means of the grace of Christ, these infants of Babylon.”

“Whoever wants to see God must be pure - both in body and soul and in all thoughts. For unclean thoughts defile the image of God and expel Divine grace from the soul.”

“Your salvation and your destruction are in your neighbor. Your salvation depends on how you treat your neighbor. Don’t forget to see the image of God in your neighbor.”

The recompense for the forgiveness of offenses is greater than the recompense for any virtue.

“It is impossible to live without patience and condescension towards others.”

“The recompense for the forgiveness of offenses is greater than the recompense for any virtue.”

“Never judge anyone. Meet everyone, no matter who he is, with a good feeling, with the hope of finding one good thing in him, seeing the image of God before you.”

“Beware of condemnation, like fire that can burn the spiritual temple. Don’t pay attention to people’s weaknesses, don’t wait for them - pay attention to yourself.”

“Beware of jokes and careless words when dealing with each other. This slander and idle talk can become a habit.”

“Pay attention to yourself and consider everyone better than yourself - and the Lord will help you.”

You need to not only do, but also speak with the fear of God, thinking over every word before uttering it

“You need to not only do, but also speak with the fear of God, thinking over every word before uttering it.”

About the correct arrangement of life

“Yes, a great mental disaster is a distracted life. It makes a particularly terrible impression on those who allow themselves to be absent-minded, having already begun an attentive life. A reverent Christian must lead his life with all attention to himself and sobriety. Watch and pray, so that you do not fall into misfortune (Matthew 26:41), said the Lord.”

“Sin puts its stamp not only on the soul, but also on a person’s appearance, on his outward behavior and appearance.”

“A good deed is not every good deed, but only such a good deed that is done for the sake of God. The appearance of a matter is not its essence; God looks at the heart. How we must humble ourselves, seeing that passion is mixed with every good deed!”

“To fast means to revere. Behave reverently before communion of the Holy Mysteries, walk as if in the presence of God.”

“Liturgy is the victorious hymn of Christianity, fasting is a time of mourning and repentance.”

“Do every task, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, carefully, as before the face of God. Remember that the Lord sees everything.”

“No one and nothing can harm a person if he does not harm himself; on the contrary, whoever does not shy away from sin, even a thousand saving means will not help him. Judas fell while with the Savior, and righteous Lot was saved while living in Sodom.”

“Silence is the work of those who have renounced the world. A man who is silent with his lips can dream, with his mind and heart he can indulge in worries and all sorts of vanity, but a man who is silent, even if he says the right word, does not cease to be silent, since his heart and life are alien to vanity and much care.”

“The Lord sometimes allows a person to be abandoned, as it were, but still preserves and leads the soul to salvation. This permission of God may concern an entire community of believers. Our job is to humbly keep the faith of Christ. If faith is preserved, there is hope of salvation.”

“I ask you to live piously in order to maintain the Orthodox faith, so that no one and nothing, no circumstances, no sorrows can tear you away from it, and for this you must certainly pray, ask for God’s help to preserve your faith immaculate.”

Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. ( Three times with bows.)
Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.
Lord have mercy. ( Three times).
Glory, and now:
Our Father, Who art in Heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in Heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord have mercy. ( 12 times).
Glory, and now:

Come, let us worship our King God. ( Bow.)

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God. ( Bow.)
Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. ( Bow.)
Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my iniquity and bear away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone, and I have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and overcome, never judge You. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. You have loved the truth; you have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Give joy and gladness to my hearing; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins, and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation, and strengthen me with the Master’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had wanted sacrifices, you would have given burnt offerings, but you would not have been pleased. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a contrite and humble heart, God will not despise. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.

Psalm 69

God, come to my help, Lord, strive for my help. Let those who seek my soul be ashamed and put to shame, let those who wish me evil turn back and be ashamed. May the abies return, ashamed, and say to us: better, better. Let all who seek You, O God, rejoice and be glad in You; and let them say, May the Lord be magnified, who love Your salvation. But I am poor and needy, God, help me: You are my Helper and my Savior, O Lord, do not become stubborn.

Psalm 142

Lord, hear my prayer, inspire my prayer in Thy truth, hear me in Thy righteousness: and do not enter into judgment with Thy servant, for every living person will not be justified before You. As if the enemy drove my soul, he humbled my belly to eat, he planted me to eat in dark, like dead centuries. And my spirit is depressed within me, my heart is troubled within me. I have remembered the days of old, I have learned in all Your works, I have learned Your hand in all creation. I lift up my hands to You: my soul, like a waterless land, to You. Hear me soon, Lord, my spirit has disappeared, do not turn Your face away from me, and I will become like those who go down into the pit. I hear Thy mercy upon me in the morning, for I trust in Thee. Tell me, Lord, I will go the other way, because I have taken my soul to You. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, I have fled to You. Teach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my God: Thy Good Spirit will guide me to rightness on earth. For Thy name's sake, O Lord, live me, by Thy righteousness remove my soul from sorrow. And by Thy mercy consume my enemies and destroy all my cold souls, for I am Thy servant.

For You are the only Holy One, You are the only Lord, Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, amen. Every night I will bless You and praise Your name forever and ever. Lord, you have been our refuge throughout all generations. Az said: Lord, have mercy on me, heal my soul for those who have sinned against You. Lord, I have come to You, teach me to do Your will, for You are my God: for with You is the source of life, in Your light we will see light. Show Your mercy to those who lead You. Grant, Lord, that we may be preserved without sin this night. Blessed are you, O Lord God of our fathers, and praised and glorified is your name forever, amen. May Thy mercy be upon us, O Lord, as we trust in Thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification. Blessed are You, O Master, enlighten me with Your justification. Symbol of faith

I believe in One God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in the One Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, Who was born of the Father before all ages. Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human. She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. And he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. Amen.

CANON
To the Most Holy Theotokos, tone 6
Song 1

Irmos: As Israel walked across the abyss on dry ground, seeing the persecutor Pharaoh drowned, we sing a victorious song to God, crying out to God.

Chorus: (Bow.)

You have infinite grace, as Divine, Mother of the Blessed, do not despise those who come running to You, always saving from troubles and sorrows.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
This is the time of my despondency, arise, Most Pure Lady, and give me your hand of help: for you have filled the world with Divine joy.
Glory: Your sovereign protection, Mother of God, as the Intercessor of existence, grant me soon to be overcome by misfortunes, and save me from them harmless.
And now: Death is coming to my soul, but the temptations of those who hate, like asps, are trying to destroy me: but save me, Mother of God, yourself. Song 3

Irmos: My mouth expanded against my enemies, because my heart was strengthened in the Lord.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

My soul, mortified by my sins, my life as it gave birth, O Mother of God, revive.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
Keep those who come running to You from every temptation, O Mother of God, our hope.
Glory: Bitterly save me from the misfortunes that rise upon me, Most Immaculate Mother of my Lord.
And now: Even though you give salvation to the world through Your Divine Nativity, change me from troubles.

Song 4

Irmos: The prophet heard Your coming, O Lord, and feared, because you wanted to be born of a virgin and appear as a man, and said: I heard Your hearing and feared, glory to Your power, Lord.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

The strength of my soul is weakened by poverty, O Mother of God, and a fierce darkness has attacked me, from sins it finds its way: look, like a luminous cloud of God, and enlighten me, I pray.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
Convert the storms of my evils and the embarrassment of my sins into the silence of salvation, as the All-Immaculate One is a refuge: they roaringly seek me, like a lion, devour them, deliver me from those destructions, I pray.
Glory: In the night and in the days, on earth and in the sea, and in every place, salvation firmly exists, invincible protection of the Mother of God, save me: according to God, for Christians truly trust in You.
And now: You always save me from great and various sins and misfortunes: in the same way, as the Lord who gave birth to You, I pray, and I resort to You, invincible help to those who mourn: deliver me from troubles with Your prayers.

Song 5

Irmos: Shine a light on the world, O Christ, enlighten my heart, calling to You from the night, and save me.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

We glorify Your protection of salvation, The words of Mother, All-Immaculate, slander without fear of men.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
Having Thee is an insurmountable wall, but we are freed from the temptations and sorrows of rebellion, O Most Pure One.
Glory: Take me away from the evil people of the tongue, pure: like a razor sharpened, destroy my soul bitterly.
And now: I fall down diligently, praying: as the Mother of my Creator, free the troubles that beset me.

Song 6

Irmos: Devoured by a sinful whale, I cry to You, Christ: as a prophet, free me from corruption.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

Sorrow is the taste of reception, Divine sweets are alienated, Most Pure One. I also cry out to You: grant me help.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
The passions of the slave of the aphid have darkened me: also, O Thou who gave birth to the Light, free me, O Lady.
Glory: According to You, I confess faithfully, Most Pure One, and I will devour Your sacrifice, By You I will be delivered from sorrow.
And now: Having opened the mouth of untruth against me, O Lady: also me, as the Intercessor, soon free these.

Lord have mercy. ( Three times.)
Glory to this day: Kontakion, tone 6:

The intercession of Christians is shameless, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call Thee: hasten to prayer and strive to supplicate, ever interceding, the Mother of God, those who honor Thee.

Song 7

Irmos: The angel made the venerable cave into a venerable youth, and the Chaldeans exhorted the scorching command of God to the tormentor to cry out: Blessed art thou, O God of our fathers.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

The temptations of my soul, which are now common among the fat youths, O Most Holy Virgin, set me free.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
Protecting those who are in trouble and in sorrow, joy, Mother of God, always give.
Glory: I am completely overcome by the despair of deeds and sadness, protect me, O Virgin, like an indestructible cover for all.
And now: Through Your intercession we are delivered from troubles and sorrows and we gain great wealth inexhaustibly.

Song 8

Irmos: From the flames of the saints you poured out dew and burned the righteous sacrifice with water: for you did everything, O Christ, only as you willed, we exalt you to all ages.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.

I am consumed by human bitterness and I pray, Mother of God, deliver me from their vain advice.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
I have overcome my sorrows and temptations and I pray, Lady, save me from these unharmed.
Glory: Save me, Pure One, from the flattering man, and the tongue, and the lips, and torment, and all kinds of need.
And now: Even though we are seduced by our disposition, without an answer, I call to the Mother of God: deliver me from all kinds of evils.

Song 9

Irmos: Hedgehog, Rejoice, who received from an Angel and gave birth to Her Creator, O Virgin, save Thee who magnify.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
(Bow.)
Be merciful to us in the sorrows of life, O Mother of God, and save from troubles those who now come running to You.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us.
Truly alone, on earth and in the sea, You appeared, Pure, the blood of an indestructible one, to those who came running to You with an undoubting soul.
Glory: I have enslaved myself without my mind to all sorts of cruel falls, with Your prayers grant me freedom, O All-Singing One.
And now: Having firmly acquired Your hope and intercession, Pure, magnifying You like the Mother of God, I end the song with faith.

It is worthy to eat as you truly bless Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. ( Three times with bows.)
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Sunday Kontakion, tone 6

With the life-giving hand of those who died from the dark pleasures, the Giver of Life, having resurrected everyone, Christ God, gave resurrection to the human race: there is for all the Savior, the Resurrection and the Life, and the God of all.

Lord have mercy. ( 40 times.) Prayer to St. Basil the Great

Who at all times, and at every hour, is worshiped and glorified in Heaven and on earth, Christ God, long-suffering, abundantly merciful, abundantly gracious, Who loves the righteous and has mercy on sinners, Who calls everyone to salvation with promises for the sake of future blessings, Himself, the Lord, accept ours at this hour of this prayer, and correct our belly to Thy commandments, sanctify our souls, cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, cleanse our thoughts, and deliver us from all sorrow, evil and disease, protect us with Your holy Angels, and by their army we observe and being instructed, we will reach into the union of faith and into the mind of Your unapproachable glory, for blessed are You forever and ever, Amen.
Lord have mercy. ( Three times.)
Glory to this day:
We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption. ( Bow.)
Bless in the name of the Lord, father.
Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos,
Paul, monk of the monastery of Evergetis,
that is, Benefactors

The undefiled, unblasphemous, incorruptible, the Most Pure, Pure Virgin, the Bride of God, the Lady, who has united the God of the Word with man by Thy glorious Nativity, and united the rejected nature of our race with the heavenly one, even the unreliable, there is one hope and help for those who struggle, a ready intercession for those who flow to You, and a refuge for all Christians. Do not disdain me, a sinner, foul, with foul thoughts, words, and deeds, having done everything indecent to yourself, and with the mind of laziness, the sweets of life of a former slave; but as the Mother of the philanthropic God, the humane-loving Mother, have mercy on me, a sinner and a prodigal, and accept my prayer brought to You from profane lips, and Your Son and our Lord and Lord, using Your Motherly boldness, pray that He will open His philanthropic womb to me too goodness, and despising my countless sins, will turn me to repentance, and skillfully show me His commandments. And appear to me ever as the Merciful, and the Merciful, and the Benevolent, in the present wretched life, a warm intercessor and helper, driving away the resistant invasions, and instructing me to salvation; and during my exodus they guarded my accursed soul, and drove away the dark visions of evil demons far from it; on the terrible day of judgment, eternal torment delivers me, and the ineffable glory of Your Son and God our heir shows me. May I also please you, my Lady, Most Holy Theotokos, through Your intercession and intercession through the grace and love for mankind of Your Only Begotten Son, Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ; To Him belongs all glory, honor and worship, with His Beginning Father, and the Most Holy, and Good, and His Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ,
Antiochus, monk Pandect

And grant us, O Master, peace of body and soul as we go to sleep, and save us from the dark sleep of sin, and from all dark and nightly voluptuousness; tame the aspirations of the passions, extinguish the kindled arrows of the evil one, even flatteringly driven towards us; quench the rebellion of our flesh, and put to rest all our earthly and material wisdom. And grant us, God, a cheerful mind, a chaste thought, a sober heart, an easy sleep and all satanic dreams changed. Rise us up during prayer to be confirmed in Your commandments, and the memory of Your judgments is firmly within us; Grant us the all-night praise, to sing and bless and glorify Your most honorable and magnificent name, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.

Glorious Ever-Virgin, Mother of Christ God, bring our prayer to Your Son and our God, may You save our souls. My hope is the Father, my refuge is the Son, my protection is the Holy Spirit: Holy Trinity, glory to Thee. END OF COMPINE

Glory even now: Lord, have mercy. ( Three times.) Lord bless.
Risen from the dead, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, through the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, have mercy and save us, for He is Good and Lover of Mankind. Amen.

Forgiveness

Weaken, forgive, forgive, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word, even in deed, even in knowledge and in ignorance, even in days and in nights, even in mind and in thought: forgive us everything, as Good and Lover of Humanity.

Final prayer

Forgive those who hate and offend us, Lord Lover of Mankind. Do good to those who do good. Grant to our brothers and relatives the same petitions for salvation and eternal life. Visit those who are infirm and grant healing. Manage the sea as well. For travelers, travel. Grant forgiveness of sins to those who serve and forgive us. Have mercy on those who have commanded us unworthy to pray for them according to Your great mercy. Remember, Lord, our father and brothers who have fallen before us, and give me rest, where the light of Your face shines. Remember, Lord, our captive brothers and deliver me from every situation. Remember, Lord, those who bear fruit and do good in Your holy churches, and give them petitions for salvation and eternal life. Remember, Lord, us, humble and sinful and unworthy Thy servants, and enlighten our minds with the light of Thy mind, and guide us on the path of Thy commandments, through the prayers of our Most Pure Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and all Thy saints: for blessed art thou unto the ages of ages. . Amen.

Lord have mercy. ( Three times.)

On the week of St. For Easter the entire trisagion is not read, but is replaced by the troparion “Christ is Risen...” three times. Also, before the celebration of Easter, instead of “It is worthy to eat, as in truth,” the following is read or sung: “Shine, shine, new Jerusalem: for the glory of the Lord has risen upon You; rejoice now and rejoice in Zion, you are the Pure One, adorn yourself to the Mother of God, about the rise of Your Nativity.”

Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Symbol of faith

I believe in one God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became human. She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. And rose again on the third day according to Scripture. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, who is worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son, who spoke the prophets. Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century. Amen.

Troparia Trinity

Having risen from sleep, we fall down to Thee, the Good One, and cry out to Thee, the Mightier, the angelic song: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

Glory: From bed and sleep You have raised me up, O Lord, enlighten my mind and heart, and open my lips to sing to You, Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy are You, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, Holy Trinity, for for the sake of Thy goodness and long-suffering, Thou didst not become angry with me, lazy and sinful, nor did Thou destroy me with my iniquities; But you usually loved mankind, and in the despair of the one who lay down, you raised me up to practice and glorify Your power. And now enlighten my mental lips, open my lips to learn Thy words, and to understand Thy commandments, and to do Thy will, and to sing to Thee in confession with my heart, and to sing Thy all-holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages. centuries. Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. To You alone have I sinned and done evil before You; for you may be justified in all of Your words, and you will always triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place Your calves on the altar.

Amen.

Lord, Who through Your many goodness and Your great bounty has given me, Your servant, the passing time of this night without misfortune to pass away from all evil; You Yourself, Master, the Creator of all things, grant me with Your true light and an enlightened heart to do Your will, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 5, St. Basil the Great

Lord Almighty, God of hosts and all flesh, living in the highest and looking upon the humble, the hearts, wombs and innermost beings of men, the fore-foreseeing One, the Beginningless and Ever-Everlasting Light, with Him there is no change or overshadowing; Himself, Immortal King, accept our prayers, even at the present time, boldly for the multitude of Your bounties, from those who are bad to You, we create, and forgive us our sins, whether in deed, word, or thought, knowledge, or ignorance, we have sinned ; and cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. And grant us with a cheerful heart and a sober thought the whole night of our present life, awaiting the coming of the bright and revealed day of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ, in which the Judge of all will come with glory, to whom he will give to each according to his deeds; may we not fall and become lazy, but be alert and rise up into the work that will be found, prepare us for joy and the Divine palace of His glory, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and the ineffable sweetness of those who behold Your face, the ineffable kindness. For You are the true Light, you enlighten and sanctify all things, and all creation sings to You forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 6th, of the same saint

Let us bless you, O highest God and Lord of mercy, who always does great and unexplored, glorious and terrible things to us, countless in number, who has given us sleep for the repose of our weakness, and the weakening of the labors of the arduous flesh. We thank Thee, for Thou didst not destroy us with our iniquities, but Thou didst usually love mankind, and in desperation, Thou didst raise us up to bring glory to Thy power. We also pray for Your immeasurable goodness, enlighten our thoughts, eyes, and raise our minds from the heavy sleep of laziness: open our lips, and fill Your praise, so that we can unwaveringly sing and confess to You, in all, and from all, to the glorified God , the Beginningless Father, with Your Only Begotten Son, and Your All-Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 7, to the Most Holy Theotokos

I sing Thy grace, O Lady, I pray to Thee, my mind is filled with grace. Step right and instruct me along the path of Christ’s commandments. Strengthen your children to songs, driving away despondency and sleep. Bound by the captivity of the Falls, allow me through Your prayers, Bride of God. Preserve me in the night and in the day, delivering me to those who fight against the enemy. She who gave birth to God, the life-giver, was killed by my passions and revived. Who gave birth to the non-evening Light, enlighten my blind soul. O wondrous Lady of the Palace, create for me the house of the Divine Spirit. O doctor who gave birth, heal the soul of my many years of passion. Worried by the storm of life, guide me towards the path of repentance. Deliver me from eternal fire, and from evil worms, and from tartar. Do not show me joy as a demon, who is guilty of many sins. Create me anew, having promised to be insensible, most imperishable, from sin. Show me the strangeness of all kinds of torment, and implore the Lord to all. Heavenly grant me joy with all the saints. Most Holy Virgin, hear the voice of Your indecent servant. Give me a stream of tears, Most Pure One, cleansing the filth of my soul. I bring lamentations from my heart to You unceasingly, be diligent, Lady. Accept my prayer service and bring it to the blessed God. Exceeding the Angel, create me beyond the fusion of the world. Light-bearing heavenly Seine, guide spiritual grace within me. I lift up my hand and my lips to praise, defiled by filth, O All-Immaculate One. Deliver me from the dirty tricks that are strangling me, diligently begging Christ; To Him is due honor and worship, now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.

Prayer 8, to our Lord Jesus Christ

My most merciful and all-merciful God, Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of love you came down and became incarnate for many reasons, so that you would save everyone. And again, Savior, save me by grace, I pray to You; Even if you save me from works, there is no grace and gift, but more than debt. Hey, abundant in generosity and ineffable in mercy! Believe in Me, you say, O my Christ, you will live and will not see death forever. Even if faith in You saves the desperate, behold, I believe, save me, for You are my God and Creator. Let faith instead of works be imputed to me, O my God, for you will not find works to justify me. But let that faith of mine prevail in place of all, let that faith answer, let that faith justify me, that let it show me to be a partaker of Your eternal glory. May Satan not kidnap me and boast, O Word, that he has torn me away from Your hand and fence; but either I want, save me, or I don’t want, Christ my Savior, before I will soon, soon, perish: For you are my God from my mother’s womb. Grant me, O Lord, now to love Thee, as sometimes I have loved that same sin; and again work for You without laziness, just as you worked before the flattering Satan. Above all, I will serve You, my Lord and God Jesus Christ, all the days of my life, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 9, to the Guardian Angel

Holy Angel, standing before my accursed soul and my passionate life, do not leave me, a sinner, nor depart from me for my intemperance. Do not give room to the evil demon to possess me through the violence of this mortal body; strengthen my poor and thin hand and guide me on the path of salvation. To her, taken away by the Angel of God, the guardian and patron of my damned soul and body, forgive me everything, I have offended you greatly all the days of my life, and if I sinned this past night, cover me on this day, and save me from every temptation. the opposite decision, so that in no sin I anger God, and pray for me to the Lord, that He may strengthen me in His passion, and show me worthy as a servant of His goodness. Amen.

Prayer 10, to the Most Holy Theotokos

My Most Holy Lady Theotokos, with Your saints and all-powerful prayers, take away from me Your humble and cursed servant despondency, oblivion, foolishness, negligence, and all the nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed heart and my darkened mind; and extinguish the flame of my passions, for I am poor and damned. And deliver me from many cruel memories and enterprises, and free me from all evil actions. For Thou art blessed from all generations, and glorified is Thy most honorable name forever and ever. Every Orthodox Christian is obliged to pray daily, morning and evening, before and after eating food, before starting and at the end of any task. In the morning we pray to thank God for preserving us last night, to ask for His Fatherly blessing and help for the day that has begun. In the evening, before going to bed, we also thank the Lord for a successful day and ask him to keep us during the night. In order for the work to be done successfully and safely, we must also first of all ask God for blessings and help for the upcoming work, and at the end thank God. To express our feelings towards God and His saints, the Church has given us various prayers.

Prayer to the Guardian Angel

To the Angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me by God from heaven, I diligently pray to you: enlighten me today, save me from all evil, guide me to good deeds and direct me on the path of salvation. Amen.

Prayer to the saint Pray to God for me, saint [holy] (name), as I diligently resort to you, the quick helper and prayer book [quick helper and prayer book] for my soul.
In addition to praying to the Guardian Angel, we must also pray to that saint by whose name we are called, because he also always prays to God for us. Every Christian, as soon as he is born into the light of God, at holy baptism is given a saint as a helper and patron by the Holy Church. He takes care of the newborn like the most loving mother, and protects him from all the troubles and misfortunes that a person encounters on earth. You need to know the day of remembrance in the year of your saint (your name day), know the life (description of life) of this saint. On his name day, we must glorify him with prayer in church and take holy communion, and if for some reason we cannot be in church on this day, then we must pray fervently at home.

Prayer for the living

Save, Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father (his name), my parents (their names), relatives, mentors and benefactors and all Orthodox Christians.
We must think not only about ourselves, but also about other people, love them and pray to God for them, because we are all children of one Heavenly Father. Such prayers are useful not only for those for whom we pray, but also for ourselves, since we thereby show love for them. And the Lord told us that without love no one can be children of God. We must pray for our Fatherland - Russia, for the country in which we live, for our spiritual father, parents, relatives, benefactors, Orthodox Christians and all people, both for the living and for the dead, because with God everyone is alive (Luke. 20, 38).

Prayer for the dead

Rest, O Lord, the souls of your departed servants (names) and all my departed relatives and benefactors, and forgive them all their sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant them the Kingdom of Heaven.

Prayer before eating food

The eyes of all trust in Thee, O Lord, and Thou givest them food in good season: Thou openest Thy generous hand and fulfilleth every kind of animal pleasure (Psalm 144, 15 and 16 vv.).
In this prayer we express confidence that God will send us food in due time, since He provides not only people, but also all living creatures with everything they need for life. Instead of this prayer, before eating food, you can read the Lord's Prayer("Our Father").

Prayer after eating food

We thank Thee, Christ our God, for Thou hast filled us with Thy earthly blessings; do not deprive us of Your heavenly Kingdom.
In this prayer, we thank God that He fed us with food, and we ask Him not to deprive us of eternal bliss after our death, which we should always remember when receiving earthly blessings.

Morning prayer

To You, Master who loves mankind, having risen from sleep, I come running, and I strive for Your works with Your mercy, and I pray to You: help me at all times in every thing, and deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devil’s haste, and save me, and bring us into Your eternal kingdom. For You are my Creator and the Provider and Giver of every good thing, and all my hope is in You, and I send up glory to You now, and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Evening prayer

Lord our God, who have sinned in these days in word, deed and thought, as he is good and a lover of mankind, forgive me; grant me peaceful sleep and serenity; Send Thy guardian angel to cover and keep me from all evil; for You are the guardian of our souls and bodies, and to You we send glory to the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
