The world was created in 7 days. The creation of the world is a biblical story and myths about the creation of the world. About the error of literal reading

The process of God's creation of the world is considered the starting point in almost all religions of the world. In Christianity, the basic tenets of both Christianity and Judaism rest on it. In our article we will look at the question of how God created the earth in the Christian tradition, and also describe all the stages of the creation of the world day by day.

The main biblical book interpreting the creation of the world is considered to be the First Book of Moses “Genesis”. Its first two chapters detail the six days of the creation of the earth, sky, water, flora and fauna, and finally man. In addition, references to the creation of the world can be found in the Book of Job, the Book of Proverbs of Solomon, the Psalter, and also in the books of the prophets. There are also partial descriptions of the creation of the world in the books of the New Testament and some books of the Old Testament, which are not considered canonical. In our article we will focus on the first two chapters of Genesis, created by Moses, who is considered the founder of the Old Testament Pentateuch.

In the Middle Ages, the description of the creation of the world was interpreted both literally and non-literally. For example, Basil the Great in his “Six Days” wrote about the actual creation of the world during six 24-hour days, and the theologian Augustine argued that it is necessary to understand creation only allegorically. Modern theology has abandoned the literal interpretation of the creation of the world due to many scientific research, which confirmed the age of the Universe and life on Earth with real figures that contradict biblical texts. It is generally accepted that the creation of the world and man is a cosmogonic myth that can only be interpreted from the point of view of artistic writing.

Six days of the creation of the world

So, how is the creation of the world described in the biblical books? Let's look at each day step by step:

  • Day 1: In the book of Genesis, the beginning of creation represents God's creation of the earth. The earth was empty, lifeless, lying in bottomless darkness, but on its surface there was water, over which God’s Spirit hovered. Seeing that darkness covered everything around, God created light and separated it from darkness, thereby creating day and night.
  • Day 2: Since the earth was lifeless, God needed to create the sky, which is called the “firmament” in Genesis. According to God’s plan, the air space was supposed to separate the water that is under the firmament from the water that is above the firmament, that is, in this way God demarcated the near-earth and near-heaven space. The atmosphere of the planet was created.
  • Day 3. The following creations of God are usually called land, seas and flora. Having collected all the water in certain places, God created the seas, and called the dry land that appeared earth. The earth bore its fruits: greenery, grass that produced seeds, fertile trees, the seeds from the fruits of which fell to the ground and grew again.
  • Day 4. On this day the sun, stars and moon were created by God. These “lamps” were needed to control day and night, as well as to determine days, years and times. “Lamps” were also supposed to be conductors of various signs, according to God’s plan.
  • Day 5. To see how God created the world, just read the description of the fifth day in Genesis. It was marked by the creation of the kingdom of fish, reptiles and birds, which God commanded to be fruitful and multiply, filling the water and sky.
  • Day 6. The last day of the creation of the world was given to the creation of the animal world and man himself. When God created “cattle, creeping things, and beasts of the earth,” he decided to place over all this his crown of creation—man. How did God create man? He made him in his own image and likeness from the dust of the earth, blowing into his face the Breath of Life. Having created Paradise in the east, he settled a man there and ordered him to cultivate and maintain the Garden of Eden, to give names to all animals and birds. How did God create woman? When a man asked God to create a helper for him, God put him to sleep and, removing a rib from his body, created a woman. The man clung to her with his soul and has never left since then.

Thus, within six days, God conceived and created the earth, animals and people. God blessed the seventh day as a day off, on which, according to Christian tradition, one should not study physical labor, but must be dedicated to God.

The world that surrounds us is designed by God in such a way that nothing appears in it suddenly. Everything seems to develop on its own. Sometimes you need to look closely to see that nothing happens in the world without God’s will.

This is how it was at the very beginning of the world. Almighty God could have created it in an instant, but He commanded that one beget the other over a long period of time. The Bible calls this time “day,” but it is not a day like ours.

On the first day, God created the heavens and the earth and gave them light. Perhaps this day lasted millions of years, if we count time the way we count it.

On the second day, at the behest of God, laws appeared by which earth and heaven began to live. On the first day there was only top and bottom, but there was no substance yet. And on the second day, the atoms began to gather into molecules, and substance was formed from the molecules. The laws of life of matter, which God established on the second day of creation, are still being studied by physics, and no end is in sight for this research. Matter - God's creation - is infinitely changeable and therefore diverse. And in the endless variability of creation one can discern the infinity of its Creator and Creator.

The third day of creation was even more wonderful and amazing than the first two. The earth seemed completely lifeless, but God commanded it to sprout living greenery, and plants appeared. It was as if God sowed the seeds of life in His creations and, at His command, they sprouted.

On the fourth day, God created the cosmos. During this day, He decorated the world with luminaries and planets and indicated the paths in which the celestial bodies began to move.

On the fifth day, by the command of God, the water gave birth to animals: ancient reptiles - huge lizards, mollusks and giant fish. During this day, some of the sea predatory lizards came onto land and turned from predators into herbivorous animals. They began to feed on large ancient grasses - horsetails and ferns, which by that time already covered the earth.

How long were each of the days of creation? The Holy Scripture says: “With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Pet. 3:8). After all, time was created by God, who is not subject to the laws of time. On the contrary, time obeys Him. For God there is no past and present, because He has eternity and He is Eternal. The entire history of the earth in comparison with eternity will seem like one moment. Therefore, each day of creation is simply a completed piece of time in which each part of the world was created.

When the sixth day arrived, God commanded:

May the earth produce living souls.

Before this, the earth gave birth only to plants, and ancient animals originated from the water element. And although they nevertheless came to land and began to live on it, they remained aquatic animals by origin. Dinosaurs lived in a very hot and humid climate, and were completely unable to adapt to the changing living conditions on the planet. The descendants of ancient lizards also cannot live without heat. Today, many snakes, turtles and lizards live in deserts, but they also thrive in water.

The Bible calls the first reptiles, shellfish and fish “living souls.” Of course, these creatures had more developed consciousness and thinking than plants. Plants are only capable of perceiving light and darkness, heat and cold. But they don’t need any mental work at all. After all, plants do not obtain food for themselves: everything they need for life is supplied by light and water.

Animals need to hunt or otherwise find food. Of course, this requires more developed thinking.

Dinosaurs were very large animals. God gave them everything that hunting animals or herbivores needed. But they only grazed or hunted. Their descendants - snakes, turtles and lizards - live just like dinosaurs. They cannot be tamed because reptiles and fish only care about one thing - food. And even after living for many years in a zoo, crocodiles or pythons cannot remember the person who brings them food. On occasion, the descendants of dinosaurs eat any living creature, be it a person, or a crocodile or boa constrictor like themselves. Reptiles never develop attachment, and the attachment of an animal to its owner or to its own kind is still a little bit of love.

And love is what gives life force.

On the sixth day of creation, the time of the dinosaurs ended. Herbivores and predators appeared on earth. These were completely different, much more developed creatures, more capable of love than lizards.

And that's why some dinosaurs became extinct, others were crushed. Previously, they lived all over the earth, but now reptiles no longer live in every place on the planet.

But why did God create the world so complicated? Why did he create some creatures and then let them disappear? Couldn't He have created the world final and irrevocable?

Nothing is impossible for God. But He did not create the world for His own sake. God did not need the world then and does not need it now. He created the world for the sake of his favorite creature - man. And this is the explanation of all the complexity of creation.

On the sixth day, after the creation of animals, God calls the world very good. Of course, the Omniscient God knew that the world would turn out good. But He does not call it good for Himself; He recognizes it as fit for a person to appear in the world.

God intended to create him from the very beginning, but we understand this when we get to the sixth day of creation.

In the description of this day, the Book of Genesis reveals to us the secret of the Holy Trinity - the Eternal Council, in which God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit seem to converse.

Previously, God simply commanded and the world appeared from nothingness. But when God created man, He said:

Let us create man in Our image and in Our likeness.

The Triune God consults in Himself about man and creates him not in the image of One of the Persons of the Holy Trinity, but in the image of All Three, Existing inseparably and unfused.

Previously, one creation, at the command of God, gave birth to another, but on the sixth day it was different. The Book of Genesis reports that man was created “from the dust of the ground,” that is, from dust, from completely inanimate matter. And God breathed life into this inanimate matter, into the dust of the earth.

He breathed into his face the breath of life, says the Book of Genesis (cf. Gen. 2:7).

From the very beginning, the new inhabitant of the world was unlike everyone else. Created in the image of God, he was appointed by God to have dominion over the whole earth and all living things. He spoke wonderfully about this power given by God French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in the fairy tale “The Little Prince”:

Man is responsible for those he has tamed.

Man was not created alone - God created man and woman. The Book of Genesis calls the two of them by the name of man.

The divine plan is that man is given a lot of love - more than the rest of creation. After all, he is the image of God, he is a being who should become like God.

And the whole world, all beings, animate and inanimate, must also be led by man to union with God with his love.

But self-love is not really love. And so God says:

It is not good for man alone; let us create for him a helper suitable for him.

God brought to man all living creatures that were in the world, and man gave them names. This was the first thing that human love did, given by God. After all, our name is the best affectionate word that we are ready to hear constantly. God gave man a word, and man shared it with the whole world, which did not and does not own the word.

But among living beings there was no such person for a person who possessed the gift of love and words, which would help him multiply these priceless Divine gifts.

And then God created a wife for him from a man’s rib. The rib is adjacent to the heart, and, according to ancient belief, the soul resides in the heart. A wife is part of a person's soul.

When God created the wife, He put a dream on man, and the man did not remember how the wife was created.

But when God brought her to the man, he said:

This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.

The first man's name was Adam, and his wife's name was Eve. God blessed them and commanded them:

Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it.

The gifts of love and words given by God to Adam and Eve were to be multiplied so that the whole earth would be filled with love and words. God provided man with surprisingly calm living conditions: the earth did not know any storms or upheavals. Warmed by the Breath of God, she grew from herself many beautiful plants. Human food was the fruits of trees and the seeds of field plants. And the animals did not eat each other, but ate the greens of the field.

Adam and Eve lived in Eden, in the Garden of Eden, located between the Tigris, Euphrates, Pishon and Geon rivers. There grew many trees with magnificent fruit, and here was the tree of life, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. According to the Divine Plan, the entire earth and the entire cosmos should become Eden.

But now this should happen not at the command of God, but thanks to the effective love of man. Thus came the seventh day of creation, when God, having created a beautiful world, entrusted its future life to man. Of course, He did not abandon the world or man and did not stop caring for them.

But from now on the world is arranged, and man is responsible for it. And it depends only on him: when the eighth, future day of the world comes, and the universe will become paradise.

To the teacher about the lesson

Creation!

God spoke, and nature, under the influence of miraculous power, begins to revive the world in early stage development, God's command touched everything, and a wonderful life was born. As you meditate on today's story, allow God to inspire you with the perfection of His purpose. His world! His creation! Your three-year-old children cannot yet understand the full depth of God's power in creating the world around them. Make every effort to ensure that the kids understand as deeply as possible that the creator of everything beautiful is only God.

The first lesson begins with a description of creation. And although we invite you to mention that God created everything from nothing, you will agree that this teaching is not so important for young children. Pay more attention to the fact that God's creation is perfect and beautiful. The topic that evil, ugliness and corruption did not come to our world from God, but arose due to man’s disobedience and the appearance of sin, will be covered a little later (lesson 5). The primordial world was perfect and beautiful. This concept is accessible to your kids. This lesson covers the first four days of creation, when the Creator created all non-living things, although many ancient thinking considered the sun, moon and stars to be living things. The sequential development of the events of four days will not be very memorable for the children, but try to make the children feel how God's care and order are reflected in His creation. We should greet each day with gratitude to God. Who created everything that surrounds us, and also not to be afraid of the night, entrusting ourselves to the One who created it, and believing that He will preserve it in it. Thus, day and night, like the rest of creation, reflect the pattern of the Creator's wisdom and care.

During the classes

Materials

1. A bouquet of flowers or an assortment of fruits (please make sure that each child has a flower or a piece of fruit).

2. Vase or some other container.

First, gather your group around you and show them all the examples of God's beautiful creation, flowers or fruits. Give each child a flower or piece of fruit for them to hold and examine. Then take a few minutes to talk together about God's wonderful work: the bright colors, the smell, the structure of a flower, a fruit. Tell your children that God created every flower, every piece of fruit to be perfect. Then put them back together and ask each child to PLACE THEIR visual item in a vase or other container that you have prepared in advance. At the same time, promise the children that they will be able to take them home after class. In the beginning there was nothing, nothing at all! (Give the children time to close their eyes and imagine. Many, many years long before you were born, even your mothers and fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers were not born yet, our beautiful world was not here at all, it really wasn’t nothing to everyone. There were no stars, no sun, no trees, no birds, no little kittens, no little children, there was nothing at all, says God.

Then God decided to create a big, beautiful world. He wanted to do all the most beautiful things for our world of animals and flowers, lakes and clouds. God did just that. Do you know how God created all this? He didn't have a shovel, and He didn't need a machine. God doesn't need anything at all. He only spoke the word! And that was all that God needed to do in order to create this huge and beautiful world.

In the beginning God said, “I want the day to be light.” (Show the children the sun). "And I want it to be dark at night." (Show the children the night sky). And the ego everything became like this. From then on, days and nights began to last, alternately replacing each other. This is how day and night were created.

God looked at the beautiful day and night that He created. He liked this. Everything was good and just wonderful! But God has not finished creating yet. He wanted more! Therefore He said: “Let there be earth and heaven!” And as soon as God spoke, the earth appeared. (Show the children the earth). And above the earth there was sky. (Show the sky). How beautiful! But wait... that was all! “I want there to be water in the sea,” said God, so that there are blue lakes, babbling brooks and wavy oceans.” And so it became. Clean, fresh water filled all the lowlands on earth, forming small and large ponds. (Show the illustration of a sea lake.

Ask your young children to listen carefully to the story of God's beautiful creation. Note: If this is your first time with three-year-olds, set rules for listening to Bible stories. To do this, you can use rhymes that you will repeat all together or some conventional sign that will be a signal for the beginning of the Bible story.

Bible story

Materials

2.Color illustrations of luminaries (sun, moon, stars), land and sea, various plants (flowers, trees).

Show the children the Bible, pointing out that it teaches us about the wonderful things God has done for us. (Give the children to hold the Bible and ask where else they have seen it - in church, at home, at grandma's, grandpa's, etc.). Then start the Bible story. Can you look around you at the beautiful world around us? On the sky and clouds, on mountains and lakes, on the sun, moon and stars, on trees, bushes and flowers. Close your eyes for a minute and imagine that our beautiful world has disappeared somewhere. No mountains or river). And God saw that everything was amazing and good.

But that was not all! God looked around and commanded plants to cover the earth. There were tall fruit trees, green grass and colorful flowers.

And so it became! God made every plant and every flower unique! And very beautiful. (Show the children the plants). Do you think God is done? (Let the children think). That's right, no. God spoke again and said: “I want there to be lights in the sky... the sun, the moon and the stars!” And so it became. The big round sun rose into the sky and warmed the earth during the day. The stars shone and twinkled, and the moon illuminated the calm and quiet night. Yes! God created everything beautiful and wonderful. Everything was perfect and exactly the way God wanted it to be. Note: When you have finished telling the story, lay out the illustrations and let the children look at them closely.

Practical part of the lesson

Materials

1. Several containers (margarine box, plastic bags, matchboxes, etc.), one item per child.

2. A long piece of rope with knots tied according to the number of children.

Practical activities reinforce the knowledge gained in the lesson by connecting the Bible story with specific actions. Organize a walk with your children. Teach children to experience God's amazing world through their own experience, looking at it, listening to it, and smelling it. Before you leave the classroom, prepare the children by clearly and precisely explaining what you are going to do and how you expect to involve everyone. (If you want, divide the children into pairs, encourage them to hold hands throughout your walk. Or, if you brought a long rope with you, let the children practice walking holding knots. Walk around the room a few times in a column one at a time. Be sure to explain children that you need to hold on to the rope tightly. This will help you stay together and no one will get lost!). Then give each child one small box and explain that during the walk they should collect as many of God's beautiful creations as possible. Let the children guess for themselves what it could be (pebbles, twigs, flowers, leaves, etc.). Let them bring the collected things to class.

After you have given the children clear instructions, go outside, weather permitting, and take time to look and listen. Before you begin showing illustrations of God's work, encourage the children themselves to suggest something they see. As you use each illustration, emphasize that God's world is beautiful and good. Then take the time to gather a few individual items that you will take with you to class: a little sand or dirt, leaves, twigs, pine needles, flowers, water, rocks. Talk about creations that are very large and that cannot be brought into the classroom - sun, clouds, trees. Before returning to class, find a place to rest for a moment. Invite your little ones to join in a short prayer of thanksgiving to God for all the beautiful things you saw during your walk. After returning to the classroom, take time to work together to retrieve and display your collection on a table where parents can see it when they come to pick up their three-year-olds. Encourage the children to tell their moms and dads about the walk into God's wonderful world. Note: If you are unable to take your group outdoors, use the list of “extra activities” at the end of the lesson.

Conclusion of the lesson

Materials

Picture for the Bible story. (One for each).

Gather the children again near a vase of flowers and a basket of fruit. Ask them to listen to the song about creation, “Who Could Create?” in your performance. (See section<<Песни»).

Finish your session with a prayer of thanksgiving, again naming the creations you saw, talked about, and sang together. Before dismissing the children, allow each person to take a flower or piece of fruit from a vase or basket. If you can, give each child a picture of a Bible story and have parents read the story of God's beautiful creation at home.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

1. Game: “Window on a walk.” If it is impossible to take your group out into nature today, you can organize a “walk” indoors through the window. Every time you approach the window, stop and look outside. Ask the children to name everything they can see from the window, paying special attention to the things that God created for His beautiful world. If you were unable to collect visuals on the street, make several pictures on 13x18 cm paper. Using simple strokes, depict everything that the child can see from the window: trees, grass, sky, rain, birds, flowers, etc. When you return to your tables or chairs, have the children look at the pictures and compare them with what they saw from the window.

2. Light snack. If you brought a bowl of fruit as an example of God's beautiful creation, divide it among the children. This will be a light snack. If possible, let children wash, peel, and cut the fruit (bananas work best). Ask your helpers to hand out napkins, plastic spoons and forks. When you distribute the fruit, give thanks to God for it with your children!

3. Rhyme with movement. Introduce rhyme 1 “Creation” to the kids. (See section "Rhymes"). Tell the children that today you will only sing the first verse. Sing the rhyme and do the movements yourself first, and then ask the children to sing and do the movements with you.

4. Picture about Creation. Bring the following materials to class: sheets of blue paper, large tree figures made from brown and green paper, a sun made from yellow paper, glue, fruits (corn flakes work well). Give the children the materials and show them how to glue them onto the blue base. (You can prepare the model before the lesson). When children have completed this activity, give each child a handful of cereal (enough to make the appliqué and still have some left over to eat!). Then, on each child's picture, make small dots of glue on the tree crown and ask the children to complete the trees by placing "fruit" on them.

5. Can you tell me? You may want to do this in your weekly lessons at the end of the lesson. Call this game “Can;t You Tell Me?” Explain to your kids that at the end of each lesson, before you say goodbye, you will play it together. Ask each child to listen very carefully to two important questions you ask. Invite everyone to respond! Questions for today: 1. Who created this beautiful world? 2. Tell me, what amazing things has God created for His world?

IF YOU HAVE TIME REMAINING

1. Place on the table various objects of God's beautiful creation (stones, flowers, leaves, plants, seashells, fruits and vegetables, pine cones). Once the children have finished looking at them, start a conversation about these objects and their Creator.

2. Prepare riddles that display particles of the world created by God: plants, water, flowers, animals, fish, birds.

3. Bring to class the materials needed to grow plants: soil, seeds, water, pots (plants must be fast-germinating). Allow some children who have shown particular interest in your work to help you plant the seeds. Water them and place them in a sunny place. Invite the children to watch the germination of seeds and the growth of seedlings every Sunday.

4. Place colored pencils, markers, and a picture for the Bible lesson on the table. (You must redraw it or photocopy it according to the number of children in the group). Invite the kids to color the picture. You can make a herbarium from pre-prepared leaves and several sheets of thin paper. Of course, first show the children how to place the leaves on the paper and secure them. While coloring pictures and making a herbarium, do not miss the opportunity to again point out to the children what an amazingly beautiful and good world our God has created for us.

What happened on each day of creation?

Question: What happened on each day of creation?
Answer: Creation is discussed in Genesis chapters 1-2. The language of this text makes it clear that all creation was created out of nothing in six literal 24-hour periods, with no additional time between them. Each stage of creation is described in such a way that, when read with an open mind, it appears as if it took a literal day: “The evening came, the morning came—the first day” (Genesis 1:5). In addition, every sentence in the original language begins with the word “and”. This is characteristic of the Hebrew language and indicates that the sentence builds on the previous one, clearly showing that the days passed one after another, without being separated from each other by any periods of time. Much of God's creative work was accomplished through words, which is a testament to the power and might of His Word. Let's look at each day of creation:
1st day of creation (Genesis 1:1-5)
God created heaven and earth. “Sky” refers to everything beyond the earth, outer space. The earth was created but not formed, although water was present on it. God then creates light and separates it from darkness, calling the light “day” and the darkness “night.” This creative work occurs from evening to morning - one day.
2nd day of creation (Genesis 1:6-8)
God creates the firmament. It forms a barrier between water on the surface and moisture in the air. At this moment the earth gained an atmosphere. This creative work also happened in one day.
3rd day of creation (Genesis 1:9-13)
God creates dry land. Continents and islands rise out of the water. Large bodies of water are called “seas”, and land is called “land”. God calls all this good.
God also creates all vegetation, great and small.

He creates it capable of self-reproduction. Plants were created in great variety ("different species"). The earth was green and teeming with plant life. God says that is also good. This creative work takes one day.
4th day of creation (Genesis 1:14-19)
God creates all the stars and celestial bodies. Their movement will help a person keep track of time. Two great celestial bodies are created in relation to the earth. The first is the sun, which is the main source of light, and the moon, which reflects the light of the sun. The movement of these bodies will separate day from night. This work is also called good by God and also takes one day.
5th Day of Creation (Genesis 1:20-23)
God creates all life that lives in water, as well as all birds. The original language allows that at this moment God could also create flying insects (if not, then they were created on the sixth day). All these creatures are created with the ability to continue their species through reproduction. The creatures created on the 5th day are the first creatures to receive God's blessing. God declares this work to be good and it takes one day.
6th Day of Creation (Genesis 1:24-31)
God creates all creatures that live on land. This includes all species not mentioned in previous days and humans. God calls this work good.
Then God consults among Himself: “God said, “Let us make man Our image and Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). This is not an explicit revelation of the Trinity, but is part of the foundation of this doctrine, since God speaks of Himself in the plural. God created man in His image (both men and women bear this image), and he is special, above all other creatures. To emphasize this, God places man in authority over the earth and over all other creatures. God blesses man and instructs him to be fruitful, fill the earth and dominate it. God declares that man and all other creatures should eat only plants. God will not lift this dietary restriction until the time of Genesis 9:3-4.
God's creative work is completed at the end of the sixth day. The entire universe in its beauty and perfection was completely formed in six literal, consecutive, 24-hour days. Upon completion of His creation, God declares that it was very good.
7th Day of Creation (Genesis 2:1-3)
God is resting. This in no way means that He was tired of His creative efforts, but it does indicate that creation was completed. In addition, God gives an example according to which one should rest on one of the seven days. The observance of this day will ultimately be the hallmark of God's chosen people (Exodus 20:8-11).

The story of the creation of the world in the Bible is known to almost every person, even those who do not particularly believe in the Lord. The depth of such knowledge lies solely in the power of faith and the study of the details of the sacred scriptures. Some of the information is passed on to us from generation to generation. For example, we all know that on the last day of the week it is necessary to drop everything and rest.

Creation of the world by the Lord

There is no indication of the exact year of the creation of the world according to the Bible, but there are references to the fact that the first man was created 7509 years ago. Since this book indicates that the creation of the planet took place at the same time, we can assume that the dates are very close. When reading this story, we learn that all the miracles of the Lord were divided into several days:

  • In the first, He created light and separated it from darkness.
  • On the second day He made the firmament and called it heaven. I placed it between the water that was on the ground and above it.
  • It took Him the third day to open the seas, oceans, other waters, as well as continents. Even then, He made the entire plant world in order to somehow lay the foundation for the organic world on the surface.
  • On the fourth, two celestial bodies were produced, which became known as the sun and the moon. After them the stars appeared.
  • He spent the fifth day creating birds, fish and reptiles. but I did all the rest the next day.
  • The sixth day was also marked by the birth of the first people. The man was made in the likeness of God from the dust of the earth, but the woman was made from the rib of a man, in order to obey him and submit in everything. He settled them in the Garden of Eden, from where they were eventually expelled for disobedience.
  • On the last day, the Almighty decided to simply rest and contemplate what had happened to Him.

This is a brief description of the 7 days of the creation of the world in the Bible that everyone can find.

Creation History and Evolution

The description of this creation is described in the Book of Genesis. The statement of this fact is attributed to Moses. It is the first narrative that speaks about the creation of the world according to the Bible, day by day. This text occupies the first and second chapters of the book. The narration comes in the form of a description of the work week. A large number of us think that the last day is Sunday. But this is where many of us are mistaken. The text indicates Saturday as a day off.

Scientists note that the earth was initially unstructured and empty. It was covered in darkness and for life to appear on it, some more time had to pass.

But not all scientists were of the opinion that the creation of the world was the work of the Lord. Atheists who are quite skeptical about this issue. They compare the creation of the world according to the Bible and the theory of evolution and find great differences in them. A large number of studies have been conducted that tend to favor the view that life on earth appeared after some changes, but not God’s intervention.

They do not deny the possibility of something higher, but it is unlikely that it somehow influenced the development of life on earth. In the natural sciences, the origin of life on the planet had a slightly different development. It is in connection with great strides in the field of knowledge of the world that the discussion between these two warring camps has somewhat intensified.

Friction on this issue has been going on for decades and will continue for a long time. Scientists will defend their point of view, and believers will strongly affirm the hand of the Lord that he put into this matter.

How one feels about this fact is purely personal. But we should not forget that no matter what knowledge we have and no matter how far progress has gone, sometimes it is worth bowing before the greatness of the miracle of the Creator.

May the Lord protect you!

world creation

Look around you, my dear friends. You will see people, houses, mountains, forests, stones, trees, beautiful flowers, horses, dogs, birds, beetles, butterflies. If you look up, you will see a huge blue sky and a friendly sun above you. The world is so diverse that our life is not enough to name everything that is in it.

But there was a time when there were no people, no animals, no trees, no stones, no sky, no earth itself. There was only one Merciful God. He wanted this whole wonderful world to appear.

First God created Angels. And they lived with him in heaven.

Then God created the earth. The earth did not immediately appear in the form in which you now see it. At first it was empty and there was terrible darkness everywhere, and the Spirit of God hovered over the water.

On the first day God created light. It became light on the earth, a clear, bright day arrived. And God called the light day and the darkness night.

On the second day, God created the firmament, and the vast vault of heaven appeared, which you see above you. And God called the firmament heaven.

On the third day, the Lord God commanded that the water on earth gather in special places (streams, rivers, lakes, seas, oceans), and dry land appeared around the water. And so it became. But the land still looked like a desert. If you didn’t see a single green leaf, a flower, or a tree anywhere, it would be very ugly and boring. And on the third day, the Merciful God said: “Let the earth produce grass, flowers, trees and other plants. And let every plant have seeds so that new plants can grow from them.” And it happened like this: at that very moment, grasses rose on the ground, flowers bloomed, trees with delicious fruits grew. The earth has become more beautiful and more fun than it was at first.

On the fourth day, God said: “Let the heavenly bodies appear in the firmament, which would illuminate the earth, by which one could distinguish day from night, count days and months and distinguish between seasons.” And God created the stars and two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. Immediately, countless stars shone in the sky, and the sun and moon appeared. Now it became very beautiful on earth: flowers were blooming, streams were babbling, white clouds were floating across the blue sky, and a huge sun was shining above all this beauty. Only not a single bird had yet flown in the air, no butterflies were visible on the flowers, no ladybugs on the leaves. Not a single worm crawled on the ground, and not a single fish swam in the lakes and rivers.

On the fifth day, God said: “Let fish and other creatures live in the water, and let birds fly through the air.” And so it became. Large and small fish swam in the rivers and seas: perch, pike, herring; huge whales appeared. Frogs jumped and crayfish crawled. Geese and ducks swam on the surface of the water; many other birds filled the sky and earth.

On the sixth day God created all the other animals and beasts. “Let the earth produce wild beasts of the earth according to their kinds,” said God. And it became like this: according to the word of God, animals appeared, in pairs of each kind, so that they could multiply.

Now things have become good and fun on earth. Worms crawl in the ground, colorful beetles run across the sand and grass, bees, bumblebees, and butterflies sit on flowers. A mouse runs here, a hedgehog crawls there. There is a dog here, a cat there. Here a cow mooes, there a sheep nibbles grass. A hare gallops here, a deer there. Here a lion lies on the grass, there a huge elephant stands and waves its thick trunk. Everywhere they sing, buzz, squeak, and moo. Everyone rejoices in their lives and praises the Merciful God who created them. And God looked graciously upon all His creation, which was very good indeed.

Children about the creation of man

And so God was pleased to create man. God said: “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness, and let him rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air, over the animals and beasts and over all the earth.” The Lord God took a handful of earth, created a man’s body from it and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul. God named the first man Adam.

While Adam was alone, he had no one to talk to, no one to walk with, no one to rejoice with. The merciful God felt sorry for Adam, and He decided: “It is not good for man to be alone; let us create for him a helper suitable for him.” So the Lord did. He put Adam into a very deep sleep and, when he fell asleep, he took one of his ribs and created a wife from this rib. When Adam woke up and opened his eyes, a woman stood in front of him. Adam was delighted and said: “This is exactly the same person as me.” He fell in love with his wife very much, and they lived very happily. Adam named his wife Eve, which means “life,” because she was destined to become the mother of all nations.

This is how the whole world was created in six days. And when God once again examined everything that he had created, he saw that it was all beautiful.

On the seventh day God rested from all His works. And he commanded people to devote the seventh day of the week to God: go to church, pray, read holy books and do good deeds.

God settled people in a wonderful garden - paradise. All kinds of trees with beautiful fruits, many flowers grew there, and kind and affectionate animals lived. It was incredibly beautiful in paradise.

The Lord bequeathed to the first people to always remember their Creator and Creator, to preserve and cultivate the Garden of Eden. Living in paradise, they constantly felt God’s love, could talk to Him, and felt that God was always near them.

Man gave names to all animals and was the master and king of the whole world.

In the beginning, Adam and Eve lived righteously and holyly. In heaven no one offended anyone. Even animals did not attack each other, since God gave them various fruits, greens, and roots for food. There was peace in heaven.

Adam improved the world, communicated with God, and through him Divine grace flowed into the world. Grace is the joy, the love that the Lord pours out on each of us, the goodness with which He warms us.

And now our responsibility is to love everyone and take care of everything around us. If you plant a flower, it needs to be watered. If you got a kitten. he needs to be fed. After all, God cares about the whole world and about us.

GOD - WHAT IS HE?

The son asked his father: “Is God just or merciful?” The father answered his son: “What are you, son, if God were only Just, the souls of all people would go only to hell. Therefore, God, first of all, is Merciful. He loves every person and seeks something to justify and have mercy on.”

So what is He, God?

This is how Archpriest Seraphim Slobodskoy talks about this in his book “The Law of God.”

Poetry

Rozhdestvenskoe.

S. Cherny

In the manger I slept on fresh hay
Quiet tiny Christ.
The moon, emerging from the shadows,
I stroked the flax of his hair.

A bull breathed on a baby's face

And, rustling like straw,
On an elastic knee
I looked at it, barely breathing.

Sparrows through the roof poles

They flocked to the manger,
And the bull, clinging to the niche,
He crumpled the blanket with his lip.

The dog, sneaking up to the warm leg,

Licked her secretly.
The cat was the most comfortable of all
Warm a child sideways in a manger.

Subdued white goat

I breathed on his forehead,
Just a stupid gray donkey
He pushed everyone helplessly:

"Look at the child

Just a minute for me too!”
And he cried loudly
In the pre-dawn silence.

And Christ, having opened his eyes,

Suddenly the circle of animals moved apart
And with a smile full of affection,
He whispered: “Look quickly!”

A Christmas Carol.

M. Münthe

All life is a trembling stream,

Man, and bird, and flower.
Love keeps within itself equal,

Standing in defense of the weak

He defended with all his soul and chest.

It beat only with hot love.
For the downtrodden, dark and dumb

Good Shepherd.

Guardian angel

Vladimir Sokolov.

Today is the day before Christmas.
So as not to disturb the silence,
You don't have to do anything
There is no need to enter the garden.
Don't squeak the door, don't squeak your sleeve
Don't touch the snowflakes.
Today is Christmas day,
God's blinding day.
And if an angel is in the shadow
You'll see by chance
Don't scare me off with your delight,
Shine on, don't notice.
Today is Christmas day,
So God's day
That they are not afraid of anyone
Neither doe nor deer.
Today the branches hang like this
That there is simply no trouble,
And everywhere - the Garden of Gethsemane,
Wherever there are gardens.
Today is the day before Christmas.
And it looks scary
Today everything is dead is dead,
What threatens existence?
And if God whispers to a star
I haven't heard of you
That means in divine work
Your star to shine,
Today is Christmas day,
God's quietest day
Don't touch a speck of dust with your sleeve,
Don't touch the snowflakes.
And Snow White in the shadows
With a bowed head -
Just save the edge of your eye,
That is your guardian.
He is resting nearby
And meanwhile he whispers:
O, take your time, child of the earth,
To the promised Eden...

Was Christ little?

Irina Orlova

I'm interested in a question:

Was Christ little?
How He learned to walk
What did He begin to say?

And did He like to walk?

And what did you like to play?
Was He obedient to His Father?
What music did you listen to?

I think He was kind.

And I went to the meeting.
Tried to be friendly
And of course He didn't fight.

He helped his younger brothers.

Sometimes He got tired.
But he was not capricious or angry.
He always looked at the sky.

He always prayed to God

Only in Him did I look for help.
If only I could live then -
I would so like to be friends with Him!

How I wish, oh God,

Be like Jesus!

Christmas

Quiet all around. Everything sleeps peacefully, carefree.

The night stretched around endlessly.

The stars are burning with golden lights,

They pierce the darkness with their rays.

Nothing moves, nothing speaks.

Quiet all around. But no one knows

What is in Bethlehem, in a simple cave,

A child was born to the Holy Virgin.
Christmas holiday

On this bright holiday -

Christmas holiday
We'll tell each other
Nice words.

The snow falls quietly:

It's winter outside,
A miracle will happen here
And will set hearts on fire.

May your smiles

On this wonderful day,
They will be our happiness,
And a gift to everyone.

The sounds of life flow

Happiness and goodness,
Illuminating thoughts
With the light of Christmas.

Angel Wreath

Where the forest approaches the field,

Children collected flowers.
Suddenly comes down to them from heaven
Wonderful Angel, as bright as the sun.

Angel! Angel! - there was a cry.

Children eagerly crowd towards him...
He approached them with affection:
- Peace be with you, dear children of God!

Sit here on the grass in a circle.

I will open it, and you - attention!
- How to weave a wreath from flowers,
Never fades away.

This beauty has blossomed

To enlighten you on many things.
Bells, bells,
A voice calling for a conversation with God!

Let him live in your soul

- That is the Christian voice of love.

Forget-me-nots - a reminder

About that saving suffering,
What he bore for us with love
Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here comes the lily of the field,

That, shining with its whiteness,
Surprisingly good
- So the soul should be pure.

Cornflowers in the yellow sea of bread -

Islands of blue sky
A reflection of paradise and the color of virginity,
Decoration of youth.

The time for withering will come,

Rain and cold, frost and snow,
But such a wreath will not fade,
It will be fresh forever.

Day of love and joy

M. Pozharova.

The living wing of a tender cloud

The amber dawn lit up,
And from heaven a snow-white angel
The Lord's holiday was announced.

Streams of gentle harmonies

Easter bells rush into the distance,
And peace for singing joy,
For a new and powerful life,
Awakened to the spring life.
Child, everywhere above the earth
Prayers are flowing on the day of love!
Pray - and with a sensitive soul
Call someone else's soul.

To the one who made a sad mistake

Or worn out by dark sorrow,
Be a comfort, be a smile,
Like a ray of dawn in an unsteady cloud,
Like Easter bells in the heavens!

I. Gorbunov-Posadov. Happy is he who loves all living things...

Happy is he who loves all living things
All life is a trembling stream,
For whom everything in nature is native, -
Man, and bird, and flower.

Happy is he who is for the worm and the rose

Love keeps within itself equal,
Who hasn't brought tears to anyone's eyes in the world?
And he didn’t shed anyone’s blood in the world.

Happy is he who has been beautiful since his youth

Standing in defense of the weak
And the persecuted, pitiful and voiceless
He defended with all his soul and chest.

The world is full of human suffering,

The world is full of suffering animals...
Happy is he whose heart is before them
It beat only with hot love.

Happy is he whose caress of compassion

For the downtrodden, dark and dumb
Eases the severity of their suffering,
The pain of human cruelty.
It sounds fiery for the oppressed,
Whose soul, through clouds and fogs,
Like a beacon, it burns with love for them!
Smile

SMILE if the rain outside the window does not stop.

SMILE if something doesn't work out.
SMILE if happiness is hidden behind the clouds.
SMILE, even if your soul is scratched.
SMILE and you will see, then everything will change.
SMILE, and the rain will pass, and the earth will be dressed in greenery.
SMILE, and sadness will pass away.
SMILE and your soul will blossom.

Loved you for no special reason...

Smile

A smile is a piece of sunshine,

Like a ray of light illuminates everything,
It will warm your soul with its warmth
And your heart will knock.

Melts the ice of quarrels and anger,

Will drive away the crowd of insults,
Smile more often, people.
Through everyday life and bustle.

Throw a handful of smiles

And sow joy, happiness, laughter,
Let your sadness and hopelessness
They will melt like old snow.

It will come back to you like a boomerang

Your smiles are a warm light
And the birds will sing around you,
And the sun will wink in response.

Turn on the smile lights,

Give a spark of goodness,
After all, very often there is not enough
A ray of warmth for someone.

K. Kuliev. The Tale of the Good Ant

Ant climbed along the path with his luggage,
And suddenly I saw a wild goat.
She froze under the rock, below,
She bowed her head in the shadow of the branches.
- Why are you sad, neighbor?
- Oh, my son Little Goat is sick,
Very bad
The only one... Trouble came to me.
- Is there any medicine for him?
- Yes, there is a herb called thylene,
Old Goat ordered to find her,
Place the Little Goat under the tongue -
And everything will pass, my son will live.
Healing, magic herb,
Just find her first!
- What is the name of the weed? Thielen?
- You said it right, my soul.
- If there is such grass on earth,
I swear to you, I will get her!
“There are no herbs, blades of grass or flowers in the world,
Which ants would not know.
Comfort the Little Goat: he will be healthy,
And your sorrows will disappear.
And the Ant disappeared. Night has fallen
He walked and thought about his children,
I remembered how worried I was about them,
I dreamed of helping the sick Goat.
The foliage whispered to him: help!
And the grass rustled: help!
The beetles buzzed him: help!
The grasshoppers chirped: help!
It got dark in the mountains. Not a thing in sight.
But the little Goat didn’t get up,
I no longer recognized my goat friends.
And the light of the sun was not light for him,
And it doesn’t matter, sunset or dawn,
Everything became empty, useless,
What was previously dear to him.
The restless Ant was in a hurry,
I woke up my old mother
And right into her somewhat deaf ear
He shouted loudly with all his strength:
- Don’t you know, mom, where tilen grows?
No, not a log, but grass!
- Thielen? Sorry, I'm hard of hearing...
Yes, I remember how you were sick as a child,
The magic herb saved you -
Your grandmother and I found her
In the distant hollow of Tirmenli.
Under the white rock there is an old oak tree,
Thielen grows under the oak tree, on the roots.
We went there for three nights and three days,
We never took a breath.
The Ant set off on a difficult journey
In unexplored, foreign places.
He never sat down to rest.
The sun was burning, the rain was lashing,
He walked hungry and sleepless,
And he walked at dawn, and he walked at night,
And he fell, and got up, and walked again...
On the third day I reached the ground,
Known as Tirmenli.
Here is a white cliff
And the old oak. Grass grew under him.
The Ant is worried: “Well, what can we do?
Even though I managed to get weed,
When will I bring it to the Little Goat?
And if I’m late, I won’t save you?”
Then the Ant saw the Crow:
- Hey, Raven, come down to me quickly!
A kid dies in Tekeli.
I found grass at the edge of the earth,
Bring the medicine on your wings,
Save a sick goat!
- Get out! - Raven croaked - What kind of nonsense!
What kind of grass? I need lunch.
Why would I fly so far?
I don't care about you, I'm hungry! -
Then the Ant noticed the Swallow:
- Listen, help my misfortune!
The kid is very sick in Tekeli,
I want the wings to take the grass.
- Of course, I will deliver without difficulty.
Where is this weed? Give it here! -
She took it and flew off into the blue,
The magic grass carried away into the distance.
On your hard road
The tired Ant wandered back.
He walked for three days, three nights - and they brought
Its all the same trails in Tekeli.
Here comes the Little Goat. He's completely healthy
Grazing with his mother in the meadow.
Butts, drinks water from streams
And he jumps through the stones while running.
“My brother,” the Goat said to the Ant,
You saved my son from death.
I will feed you and give you something to drink,
Please live with us until you are old!
And for the Little Goat the light is as sweet as before,
The water is cool and the grass is tasty.
Again he realized how beautiful the world is,
And again life is illuminated by the sun.
The good Ant did all this,
Well, how can you not bow to the Ant!
For those who never left their friends in trouble,
I dedicate my fairy tale.

Day of love and joy

Good

A. Barto

Do only one good thing in life...

So that it multiplies from a good thought...
Gardens in the area will bloom from the warmth...
After all, everyone loves good things, people and flowers...

Then people will remember with warmth in their souls...

Goodness will leave a trace in your baby...
After all, goodness is a treasure, a treasure that cannot be taken away...
You can only accept it as a reward...

If your heart is beating, everything is boiling inside...

So your heart hurts for others...
The good blossomed, took root and sprang up...
So everything in life was not in vain...

It will bear fruit, goodness will multiply...

Everyone in life wants it to come...
Without goodness, as you can see without its warmth...
The soul does not sing with happiness, the soul does not live.
Kindness

Andrey Dementyev

You can't buy kindness at the market.

You can't take away the sincerity of a song.
Envy does not come to people from books.
And without books we comprehend lies.
Apparently, sometimes education
Touch the soul
I don't have enough strength.
My grandfather without a diploma and without a title
He was just a kind person.
So, kindness was there in the beginning?..
May she come to every home
Whatever we study later,
No matter who you are later in life.
***
- You can live in different ways -
You can be in trouble, or you can be in joy,
Eat on time, drink on time,
Do nasty things on time.
Or you can do this:
|Get up at dawn -
And, thinking about a miracle,
With a burnt hand, reach for the sun
And give it to people.
***

If you want to lend a helping hand,

But you can't
Wish the person well on their journey
A kind word will also help.
***

Always do good and evil

In the power of all people
But evil happens without difficulty
It is more difficult to do good.
The beast gives birth to the beast
A bird gives birth to a bird
From good - good
From evil, evil will be born.
Good, if only it were not enough
Much better than the big bad.

The Holy Book speaks.

The Holy Book says:
The universe has a Creator.
He created the fox and the tiger,
And horses and sheep.
He lit the stars in the sky,
Commanded the streams to gurgle
And made the air colorless,
He gave birds wings to fly.
He gave me my mom and dad.
We are now one family.
Our Lord is the most wonderful -
It's Christmas

Tatyana Bokova
Happy Christmas!
There is no happier celebration!
On the night of Christ's birth
A star lit up above the earth.
Since then, through the centuries
She shines for us like the sun.
Warms the soul with faith,
To make the world more beautiful, better.
Gives sparks of magic
Happy Christmas!
Peace comes to every home...
Merry Christmas!

Before Christmas

Valentin Berestov

"And why are you, my stupid baby,

Nose pressed to the glass,
You sit in the dark and look
Into the empty frosty darkness?
Come with me there,
Where a star shines in the room,
Where with bright candles,
Balloons, gifts
The Christmas tree in the corner is decorated!" -
“No, soon a star will light up in the sky.
She will bring you here tonight
as soon as Christ is born
(Yes, yes, right to these places!
Yes, yes, right in this frost!),
Eastern kings, wise magicians,
To glorify the child Christ.
And I already saw shepherds through the window!
I know where the barn is! I know where the ox is!
And a donkey walked down our street!”

The night is quiet. On the unsteady firmament

Afanasy Fet

The night is quiet. On the unsteady firmament

The southern stars are trembling.
Mother's eyes with a smile
Quiet people look into the manger.

No ears, no extra glances, -

The roosters crowed -
And behind the angels in the highest
The shepherds praise God.

The manger quietly shines in the eyes,

Mary's face is illuminated.
A star choir to another choir
I listened to my trembling ears, -

And above Him it burns high

That star of distant lands:
The kings of the East carry with her
Gold, myrrh and frankincense.

Christmas night

Olga Guzova

The snow falls white-white

to the hills and houses;
dressed in sparkle-frost
Old Russian winter.

The stillness of the blue river...

And you don’t need anything -
on the painted porch
Christmas is lurking.

Rock the cradle

and drive the clouds away...
All doubts will be debunked
that Christmas night.

Christmas

He gave us Heaven with Himself. I know for sure!
