Tips for Dark Souls Remastered. Tips for Dark Souls Remastered Dark souls moving between bonfires

Now that I could quickly move between fires, the whole world was open to me and, most importantly, I didn’t have to spend a lot of time moving. I could visit five points in five minutes and return to the starting point, which is what I did. I talked with Andrei, who improved my shields and weapons, rested in Firelink, admired the beach, but then decided to finally explore Anor Londo, in case I missed something.
As soon as I appeared near the fire, the keeper of the fire attacked me. They shouted something about Gwyndolin, apparently he was her master, and now that I killed him, she decided to take revenge. A few blows with a sword and the girl is dead, and I receive the soul of the fire keeper, so rare and so expensive.
I went to a huge hall in which there are about ten people dressed in white clothes, who are very fast and strong. I killed them all and began to explore every corner of the hall. The amazing thing began when I approached a huge painting that depicted an old, wooden and unreliable bridge that led to snow mountain. The picture was terribly beautiful and I touched it... when suddenly my hand just fell into the picture! I couldn’t get her, something was holding her. And suddenly, I myself was drawn into the picture...

...
I'm standing on a wooden bridge. It's snowing and I have only one way, forward, to the snowy city. I can’t go back, because all the boards there have simply collapsed. Only forward, into the snowy abyss. And so I went.
I lit a fire that was located in front of the large gate, warmed myself and went inside. As it turned out, it was a ruined fortress that stood on a mountain, meaning it was possible to fall down at any moment. In addition, there was a cemetery in the courtyard. Here I was attacked by ordinary, weak zombies and zombies that had some kind of terrible animal on their heads. What's worst is that if you kill these zombies, poison flows out of them, which immediately fatally poisons, so I had to dodge and kill these from a distance, using pyromancy, magic and a simple bow and arrow. I also met terrible crow people who pounced on me from the sky. I also killed another half-decayed dragon who tried to burn me with acid or something like that.
After all the travels through this castle and its dungeon, after I killed about fifteen monsters with shields and spears that were hanging on the statue of a girl and after I activated this statue, a huge gate opened, behind which there was a stone bridge that took me away from this mountain. Naturally, I walked across the bridge, but what else was there to do?
I killed several zombies, a large knight similar to the black knights I had already fought with and finally I reached the end of the bridge. White fog. Him again. This means there is a monster ahead. Entering the fog, I discovered a girl dressed in white clothes, who had a tail and who looked somewhat like a cat. She was very friendly, but something told me that she was not kind. So I attacked first.
I was surprised, but she just disappeared! I thought she teleported and ran away. But as it turned out, she simply became invisible! I realized this when they just started cutting me out of the darkness and I couldn’t do anything about it. But I was lucky, in the arena I was in, there was snow everywhere, so I saw the tracks of the monster appearing and attacked while looking at the tracks. a few blows and the monster appeared again. Then I didn’t let the girl down and started hitting her with all my might. In the end, she too fell dead. Another monster is dead. And I received another demon soul and his blade.
But what to do next? I only had a way back, which led nowhere, and a road forward, a bridge that still went a couple of meters, and then a cliff. I approached the cliff, looked down and something made me jump down into the darkness. I flew down... and flew...
...
...
...
I'm standing near a painting with a snow-covered bridge. I am again in the hall where the painting hung and where some time ago I killed people in white. It turns out that in order to get out of the picture, I just had to jump into the abyss.... but where was I... in a parallel reality... or where... what was it...

Find all the hidden areas in Dark Souls: Remastered. Next, we'll tell you how to unlock the Painted World, the hidden area in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, and much more.

The secret areas in Dark Souls: Remastered are breathtaking. Not only because in these amazing locations you can meet unique enemies, hidden bosses and find special items, but also because they look incredibly cool. Plus, they are quite easy to spot. Even if you are new to this series and have not yet had time to thoroughly explore every inch of Lordran. If you feel like you're missing something in the kingdom, we'll help you find out.

In this guide we will look at 4 unusual locations. One of them is not technically a secret area, however, returning to it is a secret in itself. Then we will look at two hidden locations connected into one. The remaining two secret areas are separate, each on its own. This includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC zone, which remains accessible only through completing a rather difficult quest. If you're lost, confused, or just want to see how quickly you can get to these hidden areas, you should find our guide helpful.

How to access secret areas | Ash Lake, Painted World and Oolacile

Secret areas are hidden locations, each of which has its own characteristics. One of these “secrets” is a DLC expansion, but it is quite problematic to open it, so we highlighted it in our article as a separate area, although in reality it represents 3 or 4 zones at once.

Return to Northern Undead Asylum

The starting area of the game can be revisited. To return, you will need to unlock the Firelink Shrine lift icon ( Firelink Shrine ) to Northern Undead County ( Northern Undead Parish). While you're on the elevator, get off the ruins and follow the narrow passage to a large nest.

In order to return back to the Northern Undead Refuge, you need to interact with the nest of a large raven located high in the Firelink Shrine. On your way back, you'll have the opportunity to face off against the boss Stray Demon and add an item called the Strange Doll to your collection.

Great Hollow/ Ash Lake

To get to the Cavity, head to the swamp below Blighttown. From there, go up the roots of the unusual tree and attack the walls to reveal a secret room with a chest. In this hidden room, also attack the walls to find another entrance leading into the Cavity.

The Cavity is a long and dangerous descent that leads directly to the Ash Lake. Beware strong enemies in this location. They can put a curse on you, and if you stumble, you will certainly die after a long and joyless fall. If you still manage to survive on the way down, you will end up in the Ash Lake.

Ash Lake is another small location with very strong enemies. You will have to fight for your life against Hydra and cannibalistic mollusks, but this difficult path leads to one of the best rewards. At the end of the path is a dragon that can give you the ability to transform into a dragon yourself. Or, which is also nice, you get a dragon head that can breathe fire.

Painted World of Ariamis

The Painted World of Ariamis is accessed through an impressive painting in the Anor Londo cathedral. To actually enter the Painted World, you will need a unique key called the Strange Doll.

A strange doll can be found in a cell in the Northern Undead District when you revisit this area. Use the giant nest in Firelink Shrine (we talked about this earlier) to return to Northern Undead County and get the Strange Doll - it's in the same dungeon you started the game in.

The painted world is a fairly large area in the castle, where bloodthirsty enemies and an immortal dragon await you. To leave it, you will need to go to the tower opposite the bridge and talk to Halfbreed Priscilla. This is an optional boss, but she will only fight you if you attack her.

Oolacile of the Abyss

A huge area was included in Dark Souls: Remastered, but accessing it is quite difficult. You need to follow the steps below to "rescue" Dusk of Oolacile, an NPC, and also collect the Broken Pendant.

Some of these steps can be completed early in the game, but it's best to wait to complete them until you've defeated Ornstein and Smough and obtained the Lordvessel.

  1. Go to the Darkroot Basin and kill the Hydra.
  2. Leave the area and return later to the cave near where the Hydra appears.
  3. There will be a golem inside the cave. Kill him, then Zarya Olachil will appear. Talk to her.
  4. Now that you have saved Zarya, head to Duke's Archive. Destroy the Crystal Golem near the entrance. If you saved Zarya, he will drop a Broken Pendant.
  5. Return with the Broken Pendant to the cave where you found Zarya. At the back of the cave, a cutscene will play, taking you to Olacil.

There are 4 bosses in this DLC area: Sanctuary Guardian, Astorias Abysswalker, Manus, Father of the Abyss, and Black Dragon Kalameet. You will also find new spells, new armor, new merchants and new weapons. There are also many areas to explore, including the Royal Woods, Oolacile Township, and Chasm of the Abyss. This is a high level area, so only go there when you are completely ready.

The structure of the locations motivates you to keep a complex three-dimensional map of the world in your head and explore each of its sections in order to open passages to a new area, gain quick access to life-saving bonfires and find hidden secrets, including powerful weapons and armor at the very beginning of the game.

Of course, we really missed this Dark Souls 3, the locations of which were complex only within each individual zone, but the world itself was mostly linear and resembled a long stick, rather than a multi-layered grid of paths.

No fast travel between bonfires until later stages story passage V Dark Souls Remastered At first glance it seems like an outdated solution. But it doesn't really interfere with the gameplay. It's all about having a huge number of correctly placed shortcuts and the ability to run past opponents.

Of course, it's not as convenient as the intuitive teleportation system that appeared in Dark Souls 2, but, nevertheless, it is precisely this limitation that additionally affects the atmosphere. Plunging into these dangerous areas without the ability to quickly and painlessly return to the very beginning, you really feel like you are in a dark, dying world that can no longer be saved. As a result, this greatly enhances the atmosphere of loneliness and doom and greatly distinguishes the project from the background of later DS2, DS3 and, with some reservations, Bloodborne.

On the other hand, now the difficulty level is in the first Dark Souls in many ways inferior to the same DS3 And Nioh. And the point is not at all in the dangerous environment and the multi-layered structure of the world, but in the opponents themselves. After high-speed fights in Bloodborne, many enemies in DS1 too slow - with drawn-out animations of weapon swings and long turns in one place. But this does not cause disappointment, but rather a smile and nostalgic memories of the times when the most ordinary spearmen with shields were a serious problem.

Musical accompaniment in Dark Souls plays an important role and sets the player in the right mood. The soothing melodies playing in the Firelink Shrine immerse you in an atmosphere of relative safety. And epic compositions during boss battles provide an additional rush of adrenaline and enhance the feeling of a large-scale feat.

Music is not always playing, and this also affects the atmosphere. The eerie silence in the vicinity of the dark dungeon makes your blood run cold - even from the mere sound of approaching footsteps.

The authors of the reissue, for obvious reasons, did not make changes to the musical accompaniment and mechanics, limiting themselves only to improving the graphics and online. And since the problems PSN Due to the blocking of Western IP addresses by RKN, they have not yet been completed, we were not able to try a joint passage.

As for the graphics, everything turned out to be quite adequate. Some of the textures in the reissue for PS4 has been noticeably improved. And we are not talking about the banal tweaking of Sharpness filters, but about a complete redrawing of the original image.

As a result, wall and floor surfaces look much clearer and more voluminous than before. This is especially noticeable in dark locations as the character moves, casting light onto the surroundings, creating a nice play of glare and light and shade on ancient stonework or the shabby walls of an ancient castle.

Perhaps you found the original Dark Souls too difficult or boring. Or for some reason you missed it on release day and were unable to try it out. Dark Souls Remastered gives you the opportunity to set things right - it's a great excuse to check out the hardcore series or give the game a second chance.

This section contains tips and guidelines for beginners and experienced players who are just starting to play Dark Souls Remastered.

Important differences fromoriginal

  • Thanks to the remaster, the network component of the game has been improved and dedicated servers and play for up to 6 players are now available.
  • You can scale the entire game interface in the settings.
  • You can now assign the jump button yourself.
  • Covenants can be changed using the bonfire menu.
  • Added a new bonfire near the skeleton blacksmith Vamos.
  • The PC version received an improved keyboard interface.
  • Enemy AI has been improved and fixed in some areas.
  • To summon the third phantom, you need a Withered Finger, which is sold from the Undead Merchant.

Play online

If you are tired of being alone or just like to play with friends, you can call other players to join you - phantoms. To do this, you need to be kindled - use humanity in the bonfire menu, so you will have access to the summoning signs of other players on the ground. Most often they are found near bonfires and in front of the boss entrances.

Attention! While in human form, you may be invaded by hostile players, you need to kill them or initiate a boss battle to make them disappear. After the boss of the location is killed, the summoned phantoms will disappear, and you will no longer be able to summon anyone in this location. You cannot summon or invade characters whose level is less than or greater than 10% of your current level.

If you yourself want to help someone, you need to find a character named Soler from Astora after the second boss of the game - the Taurus Demon. Coming off the bridge, turn left and go onto the large balcony. From him you can get a chalk that will allow you to draw a sign on the ground, by which other players will call you. And if you want to invade other players, you need to find a Cracked Red Eye, which will activate in human form, after which the invasion will begin. You can also conduct fair duels, for this you need a red chalk to draw a red summon sign - if you summon using such a chalk, the player will be hostile.

Characteristics

  • Health - increases your character's maximum health. You shouldn’t get carried away with pumping up this parameter; it’s better to stop at 28.
  • Scholarship - adds the number of spell slots. You can leave this parameter alone if you don't plan to use magic, but, as a rule, invisibility and silence are very useful in the game, so it's worth improving this parameter to unlock two cells.
  • Endurance is one of the most important parameters; it affects the maximum load and its consumption per attack.
  • Strength - Allows you to use strength-based weapons and increases weapon damage.
  • Dexterity - Allows you to use agility-based weapons and increases weapon damage, attack animation speed, and spell casting.
  • Stability - the higher the parameter, the greater the likelihood that any of your actions, be it an attack or movement, will not be interrupted by an enemy strike.
  • Intelligence - allows you to use witchcraft spells and increases spell damage.
  • Faith - allows you to use miracles and increases the damage from this type of magic in the game.
  • Humanity is necessary to take on the form of a human.
  • Remember. The higher your character's workload, the lower his movement speed and stamina recovery. Heavy gear is only necessary if you plan to play as a tank.

Mechanics

  • A shield is the simplest and most reliable way of protection for beginners during the passage. Pay attention to the following characteristics: physical damage reduction (at a value of 100, all physical damage will be absorbed, look at such shields first), Stability (the higher the value, the less stamina is spent when blocking).
  • You can complete the game with any weapon, the main thing is to improve it.
  • Be nimble - powerful and heavy armor protects you well, but slows you down. Sometimes it is more useful to be nimble and mobile.
  • Master critical hits: parry and backstab. Parrying consists of two actions and deals huge damage. First you need to time it and parry the attack with a shield (not all attacks can be parried), and then run up to the enemy and press the attack button to start the critical hit animation, during which you will be invulnerable . A backstab deals critical damage to some enemies; to perform it, just go behind your back and press the attack button.
  • A fall can cause enormous damage.
  • Two-handed grip - it can be used on any type of weapon, which will increase the damage from any weapon.
  • There is a window of invulnerability while rolling, so roll towards the enemy's attack, not away from it. This way you won't have to shorten the distance again.

Walkthrough of Dark Souls Remastered

  • Death is an integral part of all Dark Souls games. You will die very often and very sadly, but that's normal. The main thing is not to give up and move forward, remembering the dangerous areas and the behavior of your opponents.
  • There are 10 in the game various classes, which must be selected at the beginning of the game. Don't worry about your choice, the initial parameters have virtually no effect on anything and you can further improve your character the way you want.
  • Gift - when creating your character, you need to choose an item. The most useful ones on the list? Master Key, Black Bombs, Tiny Creature Ring and Soul.
  • Remember. A very important aspect of the game are bonfires and souls. Rest by the fire whenever possible to restore your health and replenish your Estus Flasks. Raise your souls after death so that they are not lost forever.
  • At the beginning of the game, avoid the skeleton graveyard. At first it seems that there are only objects there, but as soon as you go there, you will be attacked by skeletons that will be reborn after death. They can be defeated using weapons that are enchanted with a miracle, which can be obtained later.
  • Explore every corner of the location and don’t be afraid of summoning signs. Not all useful items may be in chests or behind illusory walls, they can be hidden around every corner and should not be missed. With the help of summoning signs, you will call your assistant and together you will be able to defeat the boss or go through a difficult section of the location, do not hesitate to help.
  • Be careful and watch your step. Half of the difficulty of Dark Souls is the location, which can be littered with traps, cliffs and ambushes. Always look around before setting foot in an unfamiliar place.
  • Check the chests - there are mimics in the game that disguise themselves as chests; to detect them, pay attention to the chain at the bottom of the chest. If the chain is turned away from you, it is a regular chest, and if it is turned towards you, it is a mimic. You can kill him or throw Lloyd's Talisman to get items.
  • , is located after the second boss of the Taurus Demon, to do this, go to the bridge where the wyvern sits and go down under it. Next, go through the hole in the wall and go up the stairs. Go out to the gate with a square where there is a group of skeletons and a boar, behind which there is a passage to the building. From there, go upstairs and go out onto the wall, and then you will come to the square between the temple and the bridge, passing along which you will find a blacksmith.
  • In the Fire Temple location, going down the stairs, you can meet behind bars. Give her " " to upgrade your Estus Flask.
