Socketless cast-iron sewer Pam-Global. Adapter flange for pressure system, PAM-GLOBAL®S pam global flange

The PAM-GLOBAL® trademark belongs to the SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP, an international industrial and commercial group that began its history in the middle of the 17th century with a factory for the production of mirrors and Venetian glass in France (ManufactureRoyaledesGlaces, 1665), moved in 1692 to the French village of Saint- Gobain in Picardy in northern France. Since 1830, the family business has been formalized as a company with a name that includes the location of production facilities - Compagniede Saint-Gobain.

Today SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP is a global corporation with a turnover in 2011 of more than 42,116 million euros, about 200 thousand employees and more than 3 dozen companies in different countries world, 6 major scientific associations, 12 research centers, 3700 scientists and 396 patent applications last year alone, as well as a multifaceted activity, including building products (thermal insulation, drywall, pipes, mortars and mixtures), glass production for various applications , ceramics, plastics, abrasives, textiles, beverage/food packaging, etc. and so on.

SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP manufactures and sells its products under 17 global brands and dozens of trademarks designed to identify and easily identify special sub-products.

Thus, the PAM® brand includes a huge range of cast iron pipes for pressure and non-pressure water supply and sanitation systems, and trademark PAM-GLOBAL® - socketless cast iron pipes for drainage and ventilation, which are produced together with socket pipes made of ductile iron with nodular graphite, mainly at the PONT-à-MOUSSON factories in France and at the HalbergerhutteGmbH factories in Germany, which remained after the transfer of part of the enterprises into ownership Thyssen-Grupp in 1999 (since 2009 the SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP plants in Germany have been managed by subsidiary Saint-Gobain PAM Deutschland GmbH).

Pipeless drainage systems (and ventilation) are sold through the central logistics center of Saint-Gobain HES GmbH in Cologne (Germany, Ettore-Bugatti-Str. 35), delivered from the SAINT-GOBAIN HES central warehouse in Gelsenkirchen (Gelsenkirchen, Germany, North Rhine - Westfalia) SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP distributors and dealers worldwide.

Reference: HES - Haus-EntwasserungsSysteme - lit. "House drainage systems”, which combines pipes, fittings and connections for drainage systems (external and internal) and ventilation.

Under the PAM-GLOBAL® trademark, the following are sold today:

  • socketless pipes, fittings and connections PAM-GLOBAL® S (SML) for drainage systems of houses and buildings;
  • socketless pipes, fittings and connections PAM-GLOBAL® Plus (KML) for aggressive drains of internal drainage systems of laboratories and large kitchens;
  • socketless pipes, fittings and connections PAM-GLOBAL® C (TML) for external drainage systems from sites;
  • special socketless pipes, fittings and connections PAM-GLOBAL® B (BML) for bridge drains;
  • pre-insulated (condensate protected) socketless pipes, fittings and connections PAM-GLOBAL® V (VML);
  • socketless pipes, fittings, PAM-GLOBAL® L (RML) connections for building ventilation systems.

Additionally, Saint-Gobain HES GmbH supplies high-performance roof drainage systems PAM-GLOBAL® HDE (pipes, connections and special fittings), selling them under the brand name EPAMS®.

The main differences between PAM® cast iron pipes and PAM-GLOBAL® pipes, fittings and fittings:

  • cast-iron pipes PAM® - socketed, oriented to pressure and non-pressure water supply and drainage systems, are made of ductile iron with nodular graphite and are coated from the inside with both an epoxy layer and a cement-sand mortar, depending on the intended purpose;
  • cast-iron pipes PAM-GLOBAL® are socketless, used only in drainage systems, free-flowing or with limited low working pressure, connected to the pipeline using special couplings and made of cast iron with lamellar graphite.

Important: It is not entirely correct to speak of PAM-GLOBAL® socketless pipes as pipes made of cast iron with lamellar graphite. In fact, due to magnesium modification, intensive cooling of the casting with water in a chill mold (metal mold) followed by hypoeutectic annealing (holding) at a temperature of 950 degrees according to the De Lavo method, small graphite inclusions of a specific “rosette” shape are formed in the structure of PAM-GLOBAL® cast iron pipes, according to essence, which occupies an intermediate position between nodular and lamellar graphite.

Nodular graphite in PAM® pipes (left), rosette graphite in PAM-GLOBAL® pipes (center), and lamellar graphite in gray cast iron pipes (right).

As a result, PAM-GLOBAL® pipes are more ductile, easier to process and less defective than pipes made of traditional gray cast iron with lamellar graphite, somewhat inferior in ductility to ductile cast iron with nodular graphite, but more technologically advanced in production than pipes made of gray cast iron and pipes made of cast iron with nodular graphite.

The main brands of PAM-GLOBAL® cast iron pipes:

socketless pipes and fittings PAM-GLOBAL® S (SML) for drainage systems of houses and buildings of 9 nominal internal diameters from DN 40 to DN 300, non-combustible, effectively absorbing structural noise, inert to heat and cold, stable in shape, durable and 95% recyclable compared to other materials.

Pipes and shaped elements have an internal HPS 2000 coating of 130 µm thick epoxy resin with optimized properties (1 in the figure below), a layer of rosette graphite iron (2 in the figure below) and 40 µm acrylic lacquer as an external protective coating (3 in the figure below).

If necessary, a layer of paint is applied on top of the acrylic outer coating, and the pipes are marked with a U sign indicating that they have passed quality control in accordance with the requirements of DINEN 877.

Pipes and fittings PAM-GLOBAL® S can work with media (and media) from pH1 (at temperatures of 20 and< 60°C) и рН2 (температуры от 60°C) до рН13, перекрывая практически весь спектр агрессивных стоков бытового характера и большую часть спектра стоков промышленных производств;

Important: PAM-GLOBAL® fittings are treated according to the patented PAM-GLOBAL® HPS 2000 coating method (cataphoretic electrophoresis (KTL) method with phosphating and epoxy coating inside and outside by dipping), which includes surface preparation (degreasing and washing - 1 in fig. . below), thermal zinc phosphate phosphating (2), washing (3) and cathodic electrophoresis coating (4), intermediate washing (5), polymer network formation at 180 degrees Celsius (6) and forced intensive cooling (7).

This method ensures extremely precise alignment of pipe contours and fittings with coatings in joints, as well as more than 2000 hours of corrosion resistance when exposed to salt spray according to DIN EN 877 (DIN EN 877 standard - 350 hours).

  • socketless pipes and fittings PAM-GLOBAL® Plus with nominal inner diameters from DN 50 to DN 300 and a special coating for working with aggressive environments. PAM-GLOBAL® Plus pipes have an internal HPS 2000 coating of 250 µm thick epoxy resin with optimized properties (1 in the figure below), a layer of rosette graphite cast iron (2 in the figure below), a zinc layer (3) with a density of 130 g/ m2 and 40 µm acrylic lacquer outer coating (4 in the figure below).

Fittings PAM-GLOBAL® Plus are coated on the outside and inside with a 300 µm layer of epoxy varnish by electrostatic powder spraying followed by baking the formed layer at 180°C.

In addition to thicker layers of coatings and a 4-layer construction, PAM-GLOBAL® Plus pipes are additionally protected along the cut edge with special mastics with LUBERPOX hardener, which provide buffer protection of the material at temperatures from -30°C to +120°C.

  • socketless pipes and fittings PAM-GLOBAL® C for external drainage systems from sections in 4 nominal internal diameters DN 100, 125, 150 and 200, with a special coating. PAM-GLOBAL® Pipes Internal coating HPS 2000 of 130 µm thick epoxy resin with optimized properties (1 in the figure below), layer of rose graphite cast iron (2 in the figure below), zinc layer (3) with a density of 130 g/m2 as tread protection and a 40 µm acrylic lacquer top coat (4 in the figure below).

The fittings of PAM-GLOBAL® C are processed in epoxy resin maximally saturated with zinc dust.

  • special non-socket pipes and fittings PAM-GLOBAL® B for drainage of bridges and drainage systems from high-rise buildings in nominal internal diameters from DN 100 to DN 600 with a special coating. PAM-GLOBAL® B pipes have an internal HPS 2000 coating of modified epoxy resin with a thickness of 130 microns with optimized properties (1 in the figure below), a layer of rosette graphite cast iron (2 in the figure below), two tread protective layers of sprayed zinc with a total thickness of 40 µm (3 in the figure below) and 80 µm 2-component epoxy topcoat (4 in the figure below).

PAM-GLOBAL® B fittings are phosphated, varnished by cataphoretic electro-dipping (according to DIN EN 877 methods) and covered with a protective layer of 2-component epoxy resin in accordance with the requirements of the German technical regulation TL/TP-KORStahlbauten;

  • a system of highly efficient drainage of rainwater from the roofs of houses, buildings, structures PAM-GLOBAL® HDE (EPAMS® trademark), including complete storm drains (drainage systems) of a special patented design made of cast iron, corrosion-resistant steel and thermoplastics, cast-iron gutters and downpipes, collectors, connecting elements, fittings and fixtures.

An innovative solution in the PAM-GLOBAL® HDE system, developed in Scandinavia about 30 years ago, is the design of the water intake funnel, which excludes the ingress of air into the pipeline, which is typical for traditional drainage systems.

Due to this, the standard filling of pipes with a factor of 0.7 in PAM-GLOBAL® HDE systems is increased to almost 1, high flow velocity in a completely filled pipeline is provided by a geodetic height difference, it becomes possible to reduce the diameter of drainage pipes, as well as laying a pipeline without a slope, ensuring effective self-cleaning of the system pressure flow at high speed.

PAM-GLOBAL® HDE cast iron drainpipes are manufactured in various designs and shapes, most harmonious with the exterior of the house/building/structure.

SML is a sewage system made of cast iron with fine graphite additives, in which pipes and fittings are connected to each other by means of connecting clamps with a rubber seal.
SML sewerage has been produced since the late 60s of the XX century, when the search for new materials and technologies began in the construction industry. Since then, for more than 40 years, there has not been a better and more reliable drainage system.
When using the SML sewer system, no additional measures for fire and noise protection are required, the service life of the sewer system is significantly increased, the overhaul period increases, and operating costs are minimized.

Over several decades, cast iron has gained a reputation as a reliable material that meets special requirements and has special properties for sewerage systems:
cast iron systems have a high class of fire safety and do not emit toxic substances during a fire;
the connection and fastening system with clamps makes the installation of pipes and fittings simple, fast and reliable and does not require the use of additional sealing materials;
in addition to the fact that cast iron is highly resistant to corrosion, the SML standard implies external and internal priming of products, as well as coating the pipes from the inside with a special layer based on epoxy resin, which gives the parts additional resistance to corrosion and prevents overgrowth of the system;
the SML system is virtually silent in operation;
the SML system is designed for a wide range of operating temperatures, from low to high;
due to the extremely low coefficient of linear expansion, the system does not require the use of expansion joints, and can also be concreted;
Thanks to centrifugal casting, SML pipes have a uniform wall thickness along their entire length. In addition, they are much less brittle than ChK, cut well and have high tensile strength.

The size of cast iron pipes is characterized by their nominal diameter, that is, practically the inner diameter (a DN 100 cast iron pipe has a real inner diameter of 100 mm, and an outer diameter of 110 mm).

Pipes and fittings do not have sockets (couplings). To connect the parts of the SML system, connecting clamps are used that can withstand pressure up to 0.5 bar, if the operation of the system assumes the absence of pressure. In the pressure system, a reinforcing collar (Krale) is installed over the connecting collar. In this design, the connection is able to withstand pressures up to 10 bar.

SML sewerage complies with European standards DIN 19522 / EN 877 and Russian GOST 6942-98.
