It is no secret that most production facilities do not comply not only with European standards, but also with production facilities in general. It looks, of course, an excellent boat, if that applies to inflatables. But etching of the seams was observed. Not critical, but the multi-section floorplate in the bow “played” quite strongly on the wave if the cylinders and keelson were not inflated to the point of ringing.

In all other respects, we really liked the boat. And if the cones on it were lowered, then there would be no yaw at all, and it would be possible to install a more powerful motor. The boat is really fast, stable and well designed. And perhaps this is the only PVC boat model on which the awning looks quite decent. At the same time, there are many models of Mnev boats that we don’t like due to their design (contours).

It is also worth mentioning the portable rowing boat Vuoksa, from the same Mnev. This must be the dream of a single fisherman. We use it as a reserve tender. However, when they were going to buy a couple more of these, they no longer found similar quality, and the material became much thinner. Perhaps the demand for them is not so strong. In general, we didn’t buy it. All other Mnev and K boats use good German PVC.

Inflatable boat Poseidon, from his younger brother Mnev, also rightfully occupy their own rather extensive niche in the market. The boats are not bad in quality and have a wide range of models. But at the same time, a rather meager color scheme. IN Lately, the number of negative reviews seems to have increased. Or, people have become more demanding.

Be that as it may, the Poseidon company has quite a lot of good models of inflatable boats, the design of which is not found anywhere else.

There are a number of manufacturers doing their best to reduce the cost of their boats. This, of course, primarily affects the quality of the product. In fact, it should be budget options inflatable boats. But they are offered for the same price as high-quality ones.
This is designed for people choosing a PVC boat for the first time. After all, the abundance of advertising and “super tests” pushes them to make this choice. In principle, a novice boater himself can see the differences in the quality of the material and seams if there are boats from different companies in front of him.

For this the best option will visit shopping mall, where many manufacturers are represented. It is advisable not to listen to the sales consultant; as a rule, he has his own interests. Ask to be allowed to quietly inspect all the exhibits on display. Inflatable boats made of material similar to paper and with frequent folds at the seams are rejected immediately. Too light weight compared to other similar models, too.

But by and large, you need to look for a company that produces inflatable boats that has the least negative reviews. There will always be negative ones anyway. You need to be able to filter such messages. Many of them are far from the truth, or “someone heard from someone else.” Just like the positive ones. Often very enthusiastic reviews are published by the dealers or manufacturers themselves.

There are models of inflatable boats from different companies, which in their design have low pressure inflatable bottom. This option has many supporters. Of course, a fully inflatable body is much easier to assemble. The boat as a whole is also lighter, which means that if you need just a little power from the boat engine to get on plane, then this option can save the situation. But that's where all the positives end.

On the wave, under the motor, these boats turn into inflatable attractions. And, it is likely that at these moments, supporters of fully inflatable hulls are secretly thinking about purchasing a classic PVC boat model. We were not lucky enough to find high-quality material on such boats. And on some of them there was almost “banner” PVC.

Another thing - AirDeck - high pressure inflatable bottom. A real, properly glued airdeck must be filled to the standard pressure of 800 mbar minimum, at the same time, it becomes rigid, like a wooden floor, and the boat itself becomes very light. However, this excellent option also has disadvantages. We discussed the airdeck in more detail in the article about.

Boats Rotan, Our Boats, Flagman, Frigate, etc., did not inspire confidence in us personally. Many boats have an incomprehensible multi-cylinder design for an unknown purpose. There are many more similar domestic companies, but we no longer looked closely at them. The quality of the material and seams are all very similar. Besides, appearance We care no less than quality. However, they have their supporters. If these boats are cheaper, then they can be used for short fishing trips and recreation on the water. And the light weight and inflatable bottoms facilitate single trips to the water.

Of all the inflatable boats that maintain the level of South Korean quality, we liked the boats the most SunMarine from Yang Yang Industrial Co. Ltd. This is perhaps, at the moment, one of the very few companies that produces its inflatable boats from dense Korean PVC and has an international quality certificate. And this means compliance with international quality standards. The seams on such boats almost never etch, because the Koreans always use a triple seam with an elastic mounting tape from the inside, which in Russia is customary to save on, because it is ordered separately, and the same locks at the junction of the seams. South Korean boat hulls are beautifully built. The factory itself is located in the city of Weihai, in China, but is strictly controlled by the Koreans, and these boats cannot be purchased in China itself.

We are very familiar with these boats, we have almost never pumped up boats, and the factory that produces boats for Sun Marine is considered one of the best. True, the main direction of this production was synthetic detergents. So, when it comes to PVC chemistry and adhesion, they are probably big experts.

An excellent option, many owners of inflatable boats remember, were the Korean Korsar. More precisely, the St. Petersburg company, a well-known company, ordered them under its brand. True, they were excellent while they were produced in Korea. Some of them were subsequently ordered in China, and now boats under this brand are produced by Mnev. All in all, it's a long story. But the South Korean Corsair, of course, had no equal in quality.

Company Badger It is considered South Korean, but budget models are still made in China. Or maybe that's all. But the material used was the same, South Korean. We are not intimately familiar with these boats. The reviews we have seen are 50% x 50%. Moreover, from one extreme to another. Probably positive ones about the Koreans, and negative ones, respectively, about the Chinese.

South Korean PVC has one good quality - over the years, it retains its original appearance. Unlike our manufacturers' favorite German PVC, it is gray in color. But German PVC has absolutely the same wear resistance as Korean.

Mnev once upon a time produced boats Yamaran. For subsidiary Yamaha company. At the moment, production has moved to China. But such a company has enough finances to control it. The quality is unlikely to deteriorate.

We love the Yamaran boats in every way. The lineup is also very good. The colors and laminated transom with embossing look very nice. But with the laminated transoms of budget boats, there is a problem in the form of pressed poplar sawdust hidden under the plastic lining. And poplar and water, as you know, are not entirely compatible. After a couple of seasons, when moisture got inside the transom, many began to have problems similar to osmosis of the plastic hull. The entire transom had to be replaced. Probably, on inexpensive boats, it is desirable that the transom be made without any laminate of waterproof plywood. The ideal option is made of birch.

Similar boats are produced in terms of quality Suzumar. Inflatable boat Honwave(Honda) are better in quality, look great, but also cost more.

There is a main rule that has been developed over the years when choosing a PVC inflatable boat, regardless of the manufacturer: it is better not to deviate from the classics. All innovations in hull geometry are the lot of rigid-hull vessels.

This also applies to a bunch of cylinders that look like a bunch of logs for a raft, and an increased deadrise (haven’t you forgotten that there is air in the keelson? Look at the world’s manufacturers: the optimal volume of an inflatable keelson has long been calculated, increasing the deadrise for better seaworthiness is available only on rigid hulls). There are exceptions, of course. For example, this does not apply to such models of really high-quality inflatable boats as the Bombard C4. But the design of these boats is different from the traditional one.

If you really need hanging seaworthiness, you need.

The increased volume of cylinders also has nothing to do with seaworthiness.

The only option to depart from the classics is a catamaran hull type, but with cheap boats you can only see an unsuccessful parody. Again from a bunch of cylinders. The best inflatable boat is a classic inflatable boat.

Everything else is the desire to stand out among competitors and attract your customers. Only few people understand that you need to stand out with quality.

To summarize, of all the proposals currently available for inflatable boats Russian market, the choice is not that great. Among the good manufacturers, Mnev and K, Yamaran, Suzumar, Honwave and SunMarine stand out. SunMarine is of higher quality, in our opinion.

PVC inflatable boats from Quicksilver and, of course, are always in the top ranks of their pneumatic brothers. If the cost of these boats is affordable for you, you should not read everything written above.

Inflatable boats made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) have almost completely replaced their “rubber” predecessors. Nowadays many produce small-sized inflatable watercraft, and accordingly the quality varies from “this is class” to “wow”. How to make sense of the ocean of offers on the inflatable boat market?

There are several ways:

Choose according to the quality of the material (in this case, the density of the fabric);
Visit manufacturers' exhibitions;
Conduct personal tests;
Study information on the Internet.

Except good materials quality assembly is important and modern technology. Visiting exhibition salons is not available to everyone who wants to buy a boat. The same applies to testing - a maximum of two or three models that friends have. Where is the guarantee that they are ideal examples of their class? What remains is the Internet.

When I was faced with the question of buying a boat made of PVC fabric, instead of the rubber single-seater “Yaz-1” that had served faithfully, I immediately went online. From the fabric producing countries (USA, Korea, Russia), I chose domestic ones. Modern boats worthy of attention are assembled from 5-7 layers of PVC, the density of which ranges from 0.85 to 1.3 kg/m2. The weight of the future vessel directly depends on this, because the mass of PVC is about 90% of the weight of the boat. They differ in the shape of the hull, the design of the bottom and the fastening of the cans (seats).

Why buy an inflatable boat?

This is far from an idle question; the answer to it will help determine the size and design of the future inflatable vessel. For example:

Riding along the river with the family, going on picnics to little-visited places;
Fishing in small bodies of water from time to time;
Regular fishing or hunting trips to large rivers, reservoirs, trolling for predatory fish (See also:).

In the first case, you need a large (at least 3 meters) boat with a large margin of reliability and decent carrying capacity. It is desirable to have a hard floor. In the second, you can limit yourself to a relatively small (2.40 - 2.70) boat with a light motor (up to 3.5 hp), the bottom can be either rigid or Airdek (inflatable). This will slightly reduce weight, dimensions and assembly and disassembly time. In the latter case, the longer the length, the better.

Powerful motor, floorboards made of marine plywood 12 mm thick, high-quality stringers are a must. The most durable cylinders, it is better if the PVC has undergone additional processing, giving the coating hardness. Then you can safely walk in shallow water, not pay attention to bushes, reed thickets, and not be afraid of protruding snags and stones covered with shells. Yes, it's a lot more expensive, but it's worth it. Particular attention should be paid to the supplied pump. The higher its performance, the faster you will be “on the water”.

Based on the above, I chose the Skat S-330 model manufactured by Mnev and K in St. Petersburg. It is designed for fishing on rivers and lakes with little excitement.

Why was she chosen? Let's start in order. First of all, I liked the shape - a pointed, raised bow (easily passes through coastal thickets), an inflatable keel (feels better on a small wave), a glued transom capable (according to the manufacturer) of carrying a motor with a power of up to 18 hp.

The cockpit is protected from flooding by two transom gussets. At one time I had the opportunity to personally see that at times this is very relevant. The cylinders are not the largest, only 40 cm, but they are connected by welding and made of PVC with a density of 1100 g/m2, and this is already an indicator. The four-section floorboard provides the necessary structural rigidity for running under the motor, especially since the two middle sections fit entirely into the aluminum stringer. And finally, the highlight of the program (for me at least) are two cans (seats) mounted in the lyktros-lykpaz system.

If you have been on boats with two or three, where there is no way to adjust the seat position, you will understand what I mean.

Collapsible aluminum oars complete with hinged oarlocks and fastenings for horizontal fixation - this will surprise few people now, but it’s nice. Four carrying handles and a rope railing around the cockpit provide a wide range of mooring options. In addition, they are quite suitable for attaching all sorts of useful little things: a fishing cage, a net with bait when fishing in the current in the wiring. Finally, you can cool a bottle of beer on a hot day.

Despite the fact that the “Scat S-330” is considered a four-seater, with external dimensions of 330/150 cm, only two people can comfortably fish in it (including equipment). The stated load capacity of 450 kg is also somewhat exaggerated. No, of course you can download it, but it’s not worth it. Overload immediately affects controllability and maneuverability. And if another motorboat passed nearby, then whoever managed to hold on, hold on. When purchasing, I was very confused by the weight of the boat (two bags 55 kg), but nothing can be done about it, such is the price to pay for convenience and reliability. There were no problems with transportation to the reservoir, thanks to the same bags, one 80x65x10 cm, the other 100x60x27 cm. The boat cost more than 30 thousand rubles, but from the first time on the water the “toad” calmed down - the boat is really worth the money.

Purchase

When you come to the store, you have already basically decided on the size and manufacturer, but there is always a possibility that your preference may change. Therefore, we will speak without regard. Of course, they choose the eyes, then adjustments are made depending on financial capabilities. And here it is, your dream!

You need to start communicating with a sales consultant by studying the certificates for the products being sold, and then proceed directly to checking the product. We carefully inspect the transport bags (most likely there will be two of them). They should not show signs of careless storage and transportation. Tears, abrasions, loose seams, torn handles, damaged zippers.

When the boat is removed from the packaging, try to remember how it is folded, this will be very useful in the future, because you will have to repeat this procedure several times. Don't be shy to ask for practice and let them correct you if necessary. Carefully inspect the eye-handle, eyelets for fastening the railing, carrying handles, oar latches and hinged latches. The oars themselves should also be checked for cracks, the tightness of the handles, and the reliability of the connecting unit (there should be a slight tension when connecting).

We check the functionality of the pump and the compliance of the hoses and adapters with the boat valves. We inflate and check the places where the bottom is glued to the cylinders. There should be no wrinkles, distortions, or mechanical surface defects. That's all you can check when purchasing. Time will tell the rest.

Review and rating of PVC boats

Yamaran T280

IN model range The Petroset company is the smallest - T-280, but at the same time it has all the necessary attributes inherent in the “big brothers”. The shape of the sides is U-shaped, the ends are conical. An inflatable keel and a rigid floor, reinforced with stringers, provide good stability in small waves. The boat is assembled from PVC with a density of 950 g/m2. Recommended for use with a 3 HP motor.

A good option for fishing and walking along small rivers and lakes (although not very budget-friendly). The two cans are secured with screws. External dimensions 280x153, weight 51, load capacity 330 kg.

Silverado 30F

The F index in the name of the boat, presented by the Petroset Bolshoi company, means the Family subseries. It is equipped with a four-section floor with aluminum stringers. Large stock buoyancy is provided by an inflatable keelson (between the floor and the bottom) and three separate sections of the main cylinder.

Equipped with a transom capable of carrying a motor up to 4.5 hp. Two cans are fixed permanently, there is a railing (along the oars) and handles for carrying (closer to the stern). The total weight of the boat is 54 kg with a carrying capacity of 425 kg. External dimensions – 298/151 cm. Refers to four-seater vessels, but the ideal option is two people and a small cargo. Designed for use on small rivers and lakes with weak waves.

Nordik 360

One of the most popular models of the Petroset Bolshoi company is the mid-size station wagon model Nordik 360. Even the basic version allows you to use a boat with a motor of up to 15 hp, and the upgraded (reinforced) Hardy model can be equipped with a 25 hp motor. The bottom is made of 12 mm waterproof plywood, fastened with aluminum profiles, and reinforced with stringers. The railing is small, but the abundance of tape handles and four transport handles completely compensate for this. The basic model is equipped with two non-adjustable cans on belt seats, and on the Hardy modification - on the lytros. Boat dimensions 365/173 cm. Diameter of cylinders 46 cm. Weight – 61 kg. Load capacity 540 kg.

Nissamaran

Special series of motor rowing boats Tornado and Musson were developed specifically for operating conditions in Russia. The customer is NISSAMARAN Co ltd. Japan, it also exercises strict control at all stages of production. All seams are overlapped modern method welding, and then additionally glued on top with the same material. The density of PVC used for the manufacture of cylinders is 1100 g/m2, the bottom is 1400 g/m2. Toward the nose, the diameter of the cylinders increases slightly. Starting from a length of 270 cm, all boats are equipped with standard bags located under the seats and a bow locker bag.

Nissamaran Tornado 360

This model is equipped with a collapsible aluminum floor with stringers of a new design, a reinforced transom and increased in height, which allows the use of powerful boat motors. The bottom received additional protection, the keel was reinforced with a rubber seal, and the lower part of the cylinders (all along) was glued with an additional layer of PVC. Dimensions 360/168, cylinders with a diameter of 45 cm, weight 65, load capacity up to 689 kg. Can be used with a 20-horsepower four-stroke engine and carry five people and cargo.

Admiral 375S

For the production of boats of the Admiral series, PVC with a density of 750 g/m2 produced in Germany (Heytex, Mexler) is used. Bostic glue (French) was used during assembly. Over the many years of existence, such series as: Sport Line, Fishing Line, Reed Line, Wave Line, Hunting Line, Duck Line, Fast Cat and Heavy Duty have been developed and brought to European standards. For production, PVC with a thickness of 1.1 mm and a density of 800-1300 g/m2 is used.

The hallmark of Badger boats is a drain valve made in the form of a flap (can be used without stopping movement), a Twin Keel type keel and protection of the lower part of the cylinders with an additional layer of fabric. In addition to a rigid floor reinforced with stringers, the boats are equipped with an inflatable floor.
